    Thanks, I cancelled my Amazon order. We dont have Autozone in Canada I dont think but I found my local Napa can order "Fuel Line / PCV / EEC Hose" with an ID of 3/8" for 1.89/foot. Bought 6 feet of it.

    SAE30R7 is a buck or two per foot, should be available at any local automotive speciality store. Hose barb splice (aka mender) should also be readily available, or PEX connectors, which are easier if you ever want to disassemble. Ditto for hose clamps, but the latter are not really needed with hose barb connectors, might even be detrimental to hose end.

    While an OCC may reduce the oil reaching the intake, it does not address the source of the oil. A faulty PCV valve can cause oil loss in addition to stuck piston rings.

    Since you take so much effort to address this problem, you may also consider to move your PCV valve to some place it can be easily accessed along the input line of your OCC. This will make the future PCV valve change much easier.

    Thats the first time I've heard of moving the PCV valve. I'm not skilled enough to figure out how to safely and effectively do this on my own. Do you know of any links to guides on how to do it?

    Ditto. Would that also allow you to effectively raise the pcv valve thereby reducing the amount that comes out of it?

    This does seem fairly simple. So if I get it correct parts he installed are in this order (moving through the system starting at the engine block):

    1. Screwed cheap amazon fitting that came with catch can into engine.
    2. 1/2"" hose
    3. Some sort of custom welded fitting.
    4. PCV valve threaded into the custom fitting
    5. 3/8" hose
    6. Oil catch can
    7. 3/8" hose
    8. 3/8" to 3/8" ID coupler
    9. original hose between pcv and intake manifold cut in half feeding back into intake manifold

    I dont have a welder so I am wondering how number 3 could be done. Seems like you need 1/2 hose fitting on one side and on the other the female screw threads that the pcv valve can screw into. Maybe there is actually something out there that matches this spec for plumbing?

    Awesome. Is that your video? I actually ordered the same catch can and it arrived today. I opened it before I watched your video and thought "hey, these fittings might screw into the PVC hole in the engine..."

    Question: I also got a new PCV valve. Is it supposed to be really rattley?

    @Rocky Mountain Priusman & @AW82 No, that's not my video. My 2012 Prius has 112K miles on it but not burns any oil, and I am debating whether I need to modify the PCV line in a better way. That's how I found that Youtube.

    Not sure if you can skip the welding fitting, and fit the 5/8" hose directly on the thread side of the PCV valve. Maybe teflon tapes will be strong enough to prevent leaking?

    I believe "rattley" is what a working PCV valve should be.

    Yes, the PCV valve definately rattles when you shake it. My car at 100,000 miles is also not burning oil but there was definately a pool of oil at the bottom of the trottle body when I took it out. I expect this to get worse, which is why I am installing an oil catch can.

    If I may jump in, maybe 80%. Also, I suspect the pooling is only a portion of the PCV feed: some passes right through as mist how much hard to say?

    I think the PCV valve is type G, 16 x 1.5 mm, not NPT, so they don't fit. But experts please comment.

    Is this a comparison without PCV valve change/cleaning? Or is the PCV valve effect included?

    I just cleaned my 2002 Odyssey EGR passage. There are also oil puddles under the intake plenum cover. So this looks like a popular phenomenon for many cars:
