I just bought a 2021 Prime LE from an out-of-town dealer. The deal was done via email and color was specified as "white" I just assumed it was the wind chill (or blizzard white). When I got to the dealership it was kinda dark out and I didnt pay much attention to the color. Drove the car home and noticed the color was a bright white, not the pearl or metallic that I was expecting. The window sticker reads "Super white".I'm not complaining mainly because I got such a great deal but "Super white" is not even listed as a color option for a 2021 Prime LE.
FWIW I wish that non-metallic Super White was more available, and maybe a few more solid colours. I think it’ll grow on you.
I think I noticed the same thing when I was shopping for my 2019 Rav4 hybrid. Super white wasn't listed on the Toyota web site or in the downloadable brochure but some dealers web sites showed Rav4 hybrids in super white in stock. For 2021, the Toyota web site does show super white as a choice on the lower trims of the Rav but still doesn't show it for the Prius Prime.
Being a pearl color, the Wind Chill is seen as an upgrade, which could get people to pay extra. More so if there isn't a plain white. Which is why upper level models and trims won't have the option. The dealer can probably get the plain white on just about any model, as it is popular for fleet cars.
Toyota does not list it on their site, but historically PP was available in super white for a fleet. I have seen a few in Super White at our local dealers. Windchill Pearl and Supersonic Red are special colors that cost more. 2021 Toyota Prius Prime Exterior Paint Colors and Interior Trim Colors | Autobytel.com
Check the color code. The name does not matter. The color code dictates the actual color. The Blue Magnetism is by far the best color for the Prius Prime—you really realize that once you own that color. The white is a distant second best.
If the OP is happy with the solid white, noting his "deal" awesome. Yes, check the paint code to be sure, yet window sticker is pretty good evidence. FWIW Solid white is easier to color match/ repaint than chill or other pearls, so I'd say that is a good thing. Congrats on your new car. PS To answer a potential next question: wash & wax Always use a great condition wash mitt, car specific soap and the two bucket system to wash and use a leaf Blower to dry and apply with microfiber towels Meguires' # 7 Mirror Glaze and followed by its # 26 Hi Tech Paste Wax That will keep your new car "feeling" a little longer.
My opinion differs regarding blue magnetism and white, especially blue magnetism, which to me is one of the worst. But that is just my opinion, while I assume it is just your opinion that blue magnetism is the best, although you seem to state it as fact.
One fact is that whoever owns the Blue Magnetism eventually gets to love it, regardless of their initial opinion. This is not the case with the other colors.
Did you survey every person who purchased PP??? I think it still is your opinion. At best, maybe anecdotal observation of small samples you happen to know. Hardly a "fact".
