Low 12V battery apply brake ...

    Does anyone know is this is a sign of new battery needed ? I haven’t check the voltage yet, just walked away ans started up 10 min later...
    it’s a 2017 Prius with just under 70000km
    It’s super cold outside

    What ELSE would you think it is a sign of ??
    Loose or corroded cables maybe.

    I'd get it checked - rather than replace. It's a proper flooded battery, and should last longer than that. Mine is almost 5yrs old and going fine - but it is HOTtish outside (32°C).

    I would think it might be a sign of a 12 volt battery needing a charge.

    You might want to do the normal battery maintenance activities like checking for post corrosion and loosen up each clamp, give it a twist, and cinch it back down. The US market battery has cell inspection caps you can remove and check for electrolyte level, but depending on how super cold it is there you probably don't want to add any distilled water just yet. Funny, your included pic shows an outside air temperature of 74 F. Lastly, having the battery load tested somewhere will tell you if it might require replacement or not.
