I just went to look at a 2015 Prius V, The person said they had the Service done at a Toyota dealer ship. He said tire's rotated every 5000 mile and oil changed at 12,000 15,000 miles. Nice car, but scared to buy it after hearing that. Car has a 111,000 and he bought it with like 30,000 miles on it in 2017. On my 2009 the light comes on about every 3500 miles and I change the oil. What's the thoughts?
That seems really odd that the owner and the dealer would be as "by the book" as to rotate the tires at 5K, but skip the oil change at 10K. At 3500 miles, you're changing your oil more frequently than necessary, but you're not hurting anything except your wallet (and perhaps the environment).
