This depends on how much deduction you take for real property taxes, personal property taxes, state and local income taxes, and the general sales tax. Max you can deduct is $10,000 total amongst all of those.

Skip the XLE. Get the Limited if you can afford the monthly payments; otherwise, get the LE.

When you compare the LE, XLE, and Limited for $ to $$ to $$$ for rebates and incentives, the LE is always the best value. This is because the Toyota rebates, fed and state incentives do not take into consideration of the trim levels. For example, $4000 Toyota cashback + $4502 fed tax credit on three trims are 30.1% off on LE, 28.5% off on XLE, 25.2% off on Limited.

Every dealer has told me to basically avoid the limited and go with an XLE

From what I see... basically the difference is the screen and the softex or whatever you call it material in the seats plus the wireless charging

That screen looks like a huge liability to deal with if something or someone hits it hard enough

That and it looks extremely distracting

    .... but it's so cool

We are looking at a 21 and the LE is the only one I'm considering. Not interested in the small screen and very interested in Android Auto. Also, I'm cheap and want the lowest priced Prime.

Unfortunately, both LE and XLE lack the blind-spot monitor, which is a crucial safety feature. If you value your life and well-being, avoid these two trims.

LE also lacks auto-on headlights, which is also a very important safety feature.

If your goal is to have the least monthly car payments, go with the LE. If you want a good and safe car, go with the Limited. With the XLE, you get very little improvement over LE other than the auto-on headlight but lose Android Auto. Car salesmen typically have no idea what they are talking about—you can usually safely ignore what they say. Consumer Reports staff are also not very good with their recommendations. The owners know the best, and I have owned both the XLE and Limited.

Or perhaps wait until December in case blind-spot monitor etc. become standard on all trims.

    Good luck!
