JD Powers is free to spend their money for the car they want. I spent mine for the car(s) I want. It is a free economy. But liars remain ready to take your money (not mine) for their purposes.

admin is pushing new incentives. if i can pick up a base y for what i paid for the pip 9 years ago, (32k) it will be tempting.

my neighbor has 2 m3's and has been very satisfied. and they do a lot of long distance traveling.

Tesla very recently dropped $2k off the price of the Model Y base to compete with the price point of the ID.4 expected to start trickling out next month for those with pre-orders. (Model 3 base dropped $1k as well)

it's great that they keep making manufacturing efficiencies, etc. and are passing them along to the consumer.
i'm starting to believe a 25k tesla is in the near future.

Are they really? Or are the really fearful of the competition that’s about to be released on Tesla? Seems they are reacting defensively.

Then you shouldn't buy one or TSLA stock. Neither my Tesla nor TSLA is for sale.

Like how Toyota offered the gen2 Prius 0 to the general public when the Insight2 arrived, or has a free safety package with BSM on the current Prius since the arrival of the Ioniq.

fear is a strong emotion. competition is a better adjective, and what musk has been demanding for years.
it keeps everyone on their toes

Comparing a Tesla to a Toyota is like comparing a Model T to a horse carriage. Your choice of whether to experience a quantum leap in auto technology, with some fit and finish problems, to the old, but known and comfortable, way of doing things.

I have both Toyota/Lexus hybrids (Prius Prime, RX450h), as well as a Model Y. I would absolutely recommend the Toyota to my mother in law, but would take the Tesla hands down for myself. Different tools for different purposes.

Of course, the best of all worlds would be if Toyota got off their butt and produced a full EV that’s not a wheezing and whiny compromise whenever you have to step on the gas.

Have wondered why Toyota never used their Lexus premium brand years ago to introduce capable BEVs that combined the best of both worlds. Then they would’ve also been able to maintain brand loyalty as battery prices have continued to improve during the trickle down of full range BEVs to be eventually deployed into the Toyota lineup.

It was the vitriol of Tesla short sellers that led me to taking a closer look and investing half of my 401k in TSLA. That in turn led to buying a Std Rng Plus Model 3 partially paid off from my TSLA profits. Lessons learned.

The more, anti-Tesla postings, the more it leads to curiosity and fact checking. The effect is more TSLA stock and Tesla product purchases. A curious phenomenon.

last time Toyota/Lexus marketed that way was with the 2006 rx400h. A lot of cost, but we made up for it over the non hybrid Highlander, in '06. It's sold quite well despite its cost, but they seem to have lost the desire to Market on the high end with high-tech.

Next month we will have had our Tesla Model 3 SR+ for two years. As of lifetime readout today, 223 Wh/mi (22.3 kWh/100mi).

Amazing efficiency even coming from a plug-in Prius. Except for the first few days of testing hypermileage capabilities, all driving has matched the newfound acceleration. If only tire life were less forgiving :D.

From that JD powers report: JD powers is prevented from surveying all Tesla customers "because Elon Musk’s electric vehicle venture doesn’t grant J.D. Power permission to survey its owners in 15 states that require this".

What weird laws would put a gag on companies looking to evaluate product reliability without the manufacturer's permission? Why would Tesla not grant it?
