    Dear All,

I have a problem with the Brake booster . The cost of new Brake booster assemble is around 3800 Euro.
Hence I am looking for used one, the part number is 47050-47070. Any guidance where to find is highly appreciable.
Also in case if I am not able to find the brake booster with above part number, can I use brake booster with other part number. In internet I am seeing lot of options with part number like 47270-47030

I am also attaching picture of brake booster assemble for your reference.

    Thank you in advance.

Not sure how they do wrecking yards in Germany... But in the US they put the wrecked cars on a big lot and allow people to remove parts to buy. What's great about this is you get to practice removal on a wrecked car so you're less likely to damage you own car.

    Thank you for your reply.
I am not sure and also because of Cornoa all such kind of things are not open.
Does anybody know can I use the Brake booster assembly with different part number ( so using 47270-47030 rather than 47050-47070) considering both are 3rd Gen model.
Also do we know what is the difference between these two part number ?

    Thanks in advance.

I can't help you sourcing one, but we've had a couple problems with the wrong boosters from our local wrecking yard. Sometimes they'd send one from another model (Camry, Rav4, etc) and it would not fit or work, so I'd be careful and research before spending money on one that might not fit.

Toyota’s Electronic Parts Catalog identifies sixteen versions of the brake booster with master cylinder assembly for use on third-generation Prius cars. The choice depends on the car’s production date, destination market, wheel size, and driver’s position (left-hand drive or right-hand drive).

Keep in mind that this assembly contains not only the brake actuator, with its master cylinder, solenoid valves, and relays, but also the skid control ECU (the brake system computer) and its software. If the software doesn’t match that of the car’s other computers, diagnostic trouble code C1203/95 may be stored.

The catalog gives the service part numbers, as you’d use to order a replacement from a Toyota dealer, and an identifying “MARK,” which is printed in a specified location on the assembly itself, shown in the illustration for catalog Figure 47-02, Brake Master Cylinder. There are other numbers stamped or engraved on the assemblies, and sellers sometimes mistake these for the assembly part number or “MARK,” but I wouldn’t rely on them.

The part number you mentioned (47050-47070), for which the “MARK” is 47210-47150, has been superseded by part number 47050-47150, for which the “MARK” is 47210-47320. An assembly with any of these numbers should work with a left-hand drive Prius car that was built in June 2010 or earlier for sale in Europe.

Part number 47050-47150 is also sold in the U.S., where its list price is $693.05, and some dealers offer them online for $550 or less. Toyota dealers in the U.S. aren’t allowed to sell directly for export, and I don’t know why the price in Europe is so much higher.

Wasn’t there also something tricky about the label orientation: later, revised components had label affixed 90 deg from older ones. That’s on the lower component with the two “can” shapes, the name has “pump” in it IIRC.

That’s a completely different part, the brake booster pump assembly, part number 47070-47060 for all third-generation Prius cars.

    @ Elektroingenieur
Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.

Initially I was also confused with two number ( 47050-47070) and 47210L ( "MARK" as you said); I was getting lost over the internet search. But now it is clear to me , thanks again.

I do not know why it is too costly here, the price of 3800 Euro I got it from Toyota dealer.

Anyways, while I was searching over internet I found plenty of options for 47050-47150, but mostly these are from US; offered through e-bay and it says that they can also send to Germany. So I was thinking to order one.

    Thanks :)

@Elektroingenieur I hope you are doing good.
I got one more challenging situation, please can you let me know whether the "Brake Booster Pump Assembly ( Actuator) with part number 47070-47050 can be used instead of part number 47070-47060 ?
I have to also change this part ( 47070-47060) , but unfortunately in internet the used ones are mostly available with part number 47070-47050.
You expert comment is highly appreciable .
    Thanks in advance

Toyota’s Electronic Parts Catalog doesn’t list 47070-47050 at all, not even as a superseded part.

Toyota’s photos of the brake booster pump assembly used on certain Prius cars, on page 8 (PDF page 21) of the work instructions for U.S. safety recall D0H (PDF) (as @Mendel Leisk kindly linked above), show “47070-47050” marked on the base castings of both recalled and acceptable parts. Perhaps the -47050 number is a production part number for the assembly or one of its components, and third-party sellers have mistaken it for the -47060 service part number.

The main thing to check is that you don’t get a recalled part, with the yellow label oriented horizontally.

Thank you for your quick response.

Actually I also checked in the authorized Toyota dealer websites and they also show the part number 47050-47060, below is one of the link of the Toyota dealer :

Also I am attaching the pdf file of drawing that I got from dealer here and that also shows same part number.
    Thank you

Hi! solved your problem? I'm from Brazil and here we have the same prius version sold in Germany. I would also like to know if the US prius brake actuator sold on ebay works on the European prius

Hello. My car is a 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-In in Canada (left hand drive) and I'm told I need part 47210L but my mechanic can't find it anywhere used. It's $5400 new in Canadian $.

    Is 47050-47210 the same part?
