I got the iPhone 8 a couple off years back and a definite improvement over the 5s it replaced .

So much storage space.

Makes taking pics a lot less impactful and longer lasting.

1. When on a phone, if I touch the search magnifying glass at top-centre of page, I don’t get a keyboard to type.
Figured it out lol: just need to touch in the search field, keyboard then pops up.

2. The following has just started since new iPhone with OS14, in Safari: start a new paragraph and first letter does not go uppercase. Backspace (to fix) and it does.

Also (had to fix first letter), this is more something I’d like to add to the Priuschat acronym thread (but it’s closed): my new iPhone has a feature; you can compile a list of acronyms that expand to full words when typed. That thread seems to be in an obscure location btw?

SETTINGS>GENERAL>KEYBOARD>TEXT REPLACEMENT

Yeah first letter of new paragraph continues to not be uppercased properly. Work around: type a letter or two, backspace it out, then start again, and you DO get uppercase. Again this is in Safari on iPhone with iOS 14.

Nother gripe: in alerts or new posts, each entry has TWO links: one for the thread and another for the forum. Maybe just fat fingers, but I manage to get the forum link maybe one time out of four. And I NEVER want that forum link. Just food for thought if the interface is ever being rebuilt.

I did not read the whole thread, but 99% of what I've read points to problems with Apple's implementation of Safari.

 

Yeah I just added an ad blocker too (in desperation, due to pop up ads), so could be related.

 

I've had good luck with Brave.
