    Currently running 17s 215/50.
Just got Tein Street Advance Z and plan to lower 2 inches all round.

Question: I know risk of bottoming out is higher but how bad is it especially when ferrying passengers at the back?

    Thanks for sharing experience.

    What's the point ?
    To "look cool" ??
Mine bottoms out too often in stock configuration with nobody onboard except the driver.

Two inches? Better start stocking up on bondo, paint, primer and spare body parts...

    Very helpful responses ^^^^ smfh

I’m on tein basis with about a 2 finger gap all the way around. With a full car, it does have an issue with scraping on bumps. Not the most practical but I don’t ride around with people 99% of time

Your car, so what you want. Throwing a pic of my Prius Bc I can :)

Nice looking Prius you got there...

I'm sure you'll be able to contribute to video compilations like this one, once you're done:

Hmmm well seeing that I’ve been this way for over 4 years/60k miles and I haven’t been included in any compilation, I’d say you’re completely wrong and just trying be a butt.

the person asked a question and your response was what? To not even attempt to be productive but belittle them.

So have a wonderful day Bc I think you need a hug

    Just sharing an honest opinion.

When someone says they're going to lower a car 2 inches and that car stock off the assembly line already has problems with scraping, how can I not think of the hilarious parades of people who constantly break their car's expensive body parts by lowering it too much? It's not from a desire to belittle, it's from a desire to speak the truth of what they're in for.

or instead of an opinion, how about they get a response from someone that’s actually done what they’re asking? Remember what they say about opinions... I’ll leave it there

We're talking Prius Dude... This is isn't the kind of car people do extreme mods to... Do you see anyone commenting about their lowering experiences with their Prius on this thread? PriusChat has endless amounts of reading on almost any Prius subject, but look at the search results for "PriusChat Lowering" There's not much there:

You’re literally in the forum for Prius modifications. And if you actually search, people do modify their cars to their own tastes.

This, and any other car, is the exact car that car people do “extreme mods” to. Try not to be too closed minded there

Literal interpretations aside, there's endless mods online of every kind for Hondas, Subaru's, trucks, low riders, you name it, but a high MPG economy car like Prius isn't in that category and when they try they are they're treated like a weird oddity that drive a gutless car, who's not a serious modder. And I'm friends with a Prius modder who's done more mods on his ride than anyone on here and he gets treated that way all the time in that crowd. I can also tell 'ya that if he comes across this thread he'll have a similar reaction as I 'because a 2" lowering is gonna be a nightmare...

    First, thanks for responses.
I've learned that posting on Priuschat often attracts interesting 'opinions'. One definitely cannot be thin skinned here. :)

Good thing about coilovers is that it is adjustable if life gets complicated with a low car.

I also always remember that every driver is a painter and one's car is their canvas. So, everyone does have their own choice.
Some will want to 'look cool' :) while some people's aim is to squeeze every last MPG out of the car while driving without enjoyment. Perhaps that is their enjoyment.

Nevertheless, thank you for all the advice. Take care and stay safe all.

This is brilliant... I can't wait to repeat this to others... Especially slobs who have really messy cars and the peeps in the FB Prius group who are currently ridiculing me for replacing my gen2 arm wrest between the two front seats with a pillow.

Thank you for your words of wisdom!!!

Most people really don't WANT an honest opinion.
They just want to be stroked for their brilliant ideas.

I always ask ppl what their career is before I listen to what they have to say. Then I ask how much experience they have. Sometimes I ask detailed questions to see if they're blowing smoke. Everybody tells me how wonderful they are. Blah blah bla

There are some ppl on here who are mechanics like myself. I'm also ASE certified. There are also great repairmen who aren't certified. Follow those ppl too. There are several gurus here and you should know that their opinions are fact. Everyone else is wrong. Block the ones who know nothing so their posts don't even appear. Wrong Info sucks...

I honestly don't recommend anything aftermarket...like ever. KYB Excel G shocks are best, OEM, and low cost. Sachs aren't even as good. I don't like anything aftermarket because it either doesn't work or soon breaks. Some aftermarket things are good, like an A&A supercharger for vettes, but that's $6k plus install. Good aftermarket is t cheap. Fixing cars are hard enough without aftermarket crap blowing up all the time, mass airflow sensors that last ymonths, coolant sensors that blow coolant, oil press sending units that electrically fail in a week, and chinese coil packs that don't work out of the box. I'm sick of it all. It's cheaper to buy the right par

    Thanks for your advice.
When I talk about aftermarket, they cost much more than OEM, sometimes up to triple.

    So, no crap here :).

    Thanks again.
