We managed to get the prius started this morning and took it in for a battery check, they said it was reading at 10.7 volts. Basically it's dead. We knew that. I'm looking for info on a new battery, I don't have our manual anymore and the place that checked it won't tell us what it is since we aren't buying it from them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

all you need is a battery that fits gen 3, 2010-2015.

dealer is around $200. who is going to install?

some auto parts stores might be a little cheaper, but there's no free lunch. i got a dealer oem last year, did you get 9 years out of yours?

Have you asked a Toyota dealer ? Or another "battery store" ?
    If not, why not ??

Sometimes just paying the extra $30 or so to a dealer really is the best overall solution.

Pep Boys is often suggested as a source for Prius batteries.

Thank you! We got it covered. :). Yes, we did get 9 years out of it! I'm not sure how! And yes, we talked to the dealer as well as a few other places.

It might be helpful to others (in your area) if you would tell us how/where you ended up "getting it covered".
    :)

Mine went ten. Looks like Chandler AZ is about seven degrees further south, probably more heat.

We ordered the replacement from Autozone, picked it up same day and I installed it. Super easy. Only took 10-15 minutes. You just need a #10 Wrench and socket.
