That's correct. Note that the rebates and fees (except for the document fee) are after tax and the dealer discounts are pretax. Taxes are based on the Zip code you live in, not where you purchase the car. Also, a $4,000 dealer discount is a long shot. You'll be lucky if you could get $2,000–3,000. Good luck!

You can get a 2600 dealer discount if you work it. Last year I got a $3600 dealer discount when the cash back from toyo was 1500, now that its 3000 i got 2600 off msrp dealer discount with some work, but not too much. If you get 2k with a 3k cashback thats a good number imo.

Yeah, a $2,000–3,000 dealer discount (apart from the after-tax rebate) is reasonable at the moment; however, anything headed toward $4,000 is a long shot. In any case you need to contact several dealers through the Internet and have the prices matched, as the dealer with the initial lowest price may not have the car you want. Never walk in to a dealer before you get an Internet offer first—that would ruin the chances of a good negotiation. When you ask for Internet offers, always ask for the final OTD price with the full breakdown of the items, which you can forward to other dealers for price matching or beating. TrueCar.com, cars.com, and dealer websites are good places to start with Internet offers. Not every dealer uses every website.

Cool, thanks. I'm moving to the US in January so I'm just doing some early research. The current $3000 Toyota cashback expires 4 Jan, I'll be arriving in the US after that and it's probably gonna take a couple more weeks to a month to get settled in and everything.

I know this is purely speculative at this point, but any idea if Toyota incentives will get better or worse after that?

Hi gang! I'm stoked to announce that I've decided to get a 2021 Prime Limited in either Titatium Glow or Red to replace my 07 which I'll keep as a beater for now. So far the price for the red is 35679 including installed packages and $995 delivery fee. Deduct 3k for toyota cash back. so 32679 + 8% taxes= 35,293. I'm trying to avoid any add-ons so I expect this to be out the door except for NYS registration. Do you think I can do better? I have an inquiry in to Hoselton for their best OTD price, waiting to hear. I'm excluding the NYS rebate, and fed tax credit for the purposes of price comp.

Also I haven't test-driven yet. The ground clearance is even lower than the 07. Need some reassurance that i won't be scraping the bottom in our somewhat roughly paved (aka potholed) area.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

You are not the only one who would be driving a modern Toyota—you won't need new roads if you get one. ;)

Moreover, don't forget to shop around for your trade-in as well, as offers vary wildly, more than $5,000.

Always know all the local Toyota incentives available in your area by visiting the Toyota website.

Oh not trading it. I'll put snow tires on and use it as a winter around town car and my daughter's learner car in a few years maybe. Saving the new one for long trips and fair weather commuting if I ever return to that.

The local dealership here I'm told does not budge on price, but it sounds like I should ask for a dealer discount in addition to the 3k toyota incentive.

You should get at least a $2k dealer discount. Anything above $3k is a long shot, but $3k is not difficult to get. You may want to travel to Maryland for a good deal—They have a $4,000 rebate in Maryland as opposed to $3,000 in New York. A lot of people went to Koons Easton Toyota in Maryland here. Always get an OTD quote with a full breakdown on the Internet first.

It will probably get slightly worse, by about $1,000–2,000. The end of the year is when they have the aggressive discounts.

Welcome to the US—you're already headed for a great start with the Prius Prime! Get the Limited. ;)

I didn't do a lot of research on price other than a KBB check, but bought a 2021 Pearl White Prime Limited this weekend. Car was marked down to $32,851 before the $3K rebate which brought it to $29,851. There was about $1k in taxes and fees. (OR has a 0.5% sales tax on new cars). I got $18500 on my trade as well. I recently moved from out of state, but was told that in OR, you don't have to go to the BMV for plates. They mail you plates that are good for 4 years. Sounds too good to be true, but we will see!

If anyone is in the Portland OR area, they had the Limited in silver and red on manager special for the same price. There were also similar deals on the lower trims as well.

Signed up for the service plan, but pretty sure it is a rip off. I have owned a Prius C since 2014, and other than oil changes at the dealer I haven't done much else. I change the air/cabin filter myself and i use a tire shop for tire rotations. This fall i finally replaced the 12V battery and the dealer did a detailed "engine clean" for a total of $600. I presume the maintenance plans don't include the price of parts, like tires, 12V battery, etc. correct? After owning the C, I feel like I have a good idea of what to expect. Is there anything I am overlooking on a Prime for service that might be different?

Also what is up with these $299 ETCH warranties they add? Our finance guy didn't even ask us, he just told us it would help on our insurance and added it.

We did get the extended warranty, which I didn't do for the Prius C. The infotainment system scares me the most, I am guessing it isn't cheap to replace if it fails.

I am thinking of cancelling the service plan and the ETCH warranty this week.

Trying to haggle through email, current OTD price he's saying $33,948.35 with taxes not sure if that's including NYS rebate or not, waiting to hear back on that point.

    That's a great deal—about a $3k dealer discount in addition to the $3k rebate!

Yea I think I'm fine with it, though it does include the $1100 NYS rebate. work is slow so I've been trying to read the manual as much as possible so hopefully the test drive is a formality and I will have my new car soon. :):):)

The NY rebate is $3,000, not $1,100. You wouldn't get that OTD price on the Prius Prime Limited with a $1k rebate.

Here is an offer that I got from a Maryland dealer for a 2021 Limited:

    MSRP: $35,618
    Toyota Rebate - $4000
    Dealer discount -$2813

Other details not provided, but OTD is $30,780.16 that includes taxes & stuff for Virginia. I hope I can convince them to include the $750 uber rebate.

Is buying used 2017 Prius prime with 153,000 km (95,000 miles) worth it. The price is 16,000 CAD in Montreal. But
Can prime survive 300,000 km (190,000 miles) like the old Toyota vehicles are known for ?
my daily commute is 50 km (30 miles) & I do Uber/Lyft once a week.

    Please advise, thanks folks
