"Most of this emission-free gas is currently produced using fossil fuels, and a lot of work is required to clean it up"

There are no magic bullets in energy production - you do not get something for nothing.

You make negative posts on BEVs or Tesla because you can't counter the points brought against hydrogen.

In this case, the 'clickbait' title was to get people to read about Polestar's proposal that all manufacturers should be up front about emissions for their models. But outside parties have done the research, and it is well known among those that follow plug ins that their carbon emissions depend on what they charge from. it also takes exceptionally dirty grids for a plug in to not best an ICE.

Then you should be calling for Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, and CARB to disclose the carbon footprints of FCEVs.

The reality is that there is no clean energy from outside providers at this time. It’s all a lie. Unless one is living off the grid and makes their own electricity from solar will an EV become almost clean. But their is still the manufacturing process, delivery process, and dismantling process to impact the environment. All transportation has an impact to the environment.

Your arguments constantly seem to suggest that your objective is to discredit any and all efforts towards vehicles that are less harmful to the environment. Is that rational or even fair when we're trapped on a planet with 7 billion people that need to find a less planet killing way as quickly as possible? What side are you on anyways?

    Really - that’s why I drive a Prius and a Mirai.

They aren't 100% clean, but grid electricity where many plug ins are selling means they are cleaner than the equivalent ICE car, and even the hybrid in some places. Then the dirty the power plants are getting shut down, with cleaner and renewable sources replacing them.

So let's do the emission math for all the car options. Put the lifetime carbon foot print of a BEV and FCEV side by side with a ICE and hybrid.

No, whole lifecycles are not part of their charter.

The electric grid has been shifting to lower carbon emissions for quite a while. This year has seen the greatest shift away from coal in a very long time, even in the face of an official policy to revive coal.

Some of us already get electricity from carbon-neutral or almost-carbon-free utilities. So being off-grid is not a requirement to be almost clean.

He knows. You mistake him for someone who cares:D. He’s just searching the internet for clickbait to promote his agenda.

If he started reading the links, he'd see most are opposing his agenda.

    dual comidy ...
1 - EV not clean: yet we fill them with PV sunlight in many cases for free, from convenience of our own garage.

1 - (My favorite) he daily searches for anti EV ads - as though anyone who experiences the thrill of EV efficiency will suddenly face palm, and go, "yuck! - i must now switch over to (non-renewable primarily coal or natural gas reformed) hydrogen or a gasoline/diesel burner. (rolling eyes)
    And this is brought to us via a "Polestar" ad ... a chinese auto company, known for not too few a number of serious defects for their entire fleet. But they DO eventually fix them. The latest defect in their EV relates to the main guts of ALL EV's - see here - bad battery & inverter designs;

Polestar recalls almost all Polestar 2 electric cars over inverter and battery issues - Electrek

the chines manufacturers are world famous for cheesy knockoffs - from designer watches / purses / fashion clothing, to motorcycles and cars. The Geely company could have just copied Tesla guts, rather than try to do it on their own, as Tesla patents were opened up for free use. Anyway - the irony of this thread will fall on deaf ears, & the OP will continue the daily search for negative EV press, & the market will continue to carry on w/o our resident anti tesla anti EV ad finder's participation joining into the joy most find - once they go EV, w/out having to use any fossil fuel in many instances.
    ;)

I do recall a certain EV company who has very similar build issues and still does till this day. So Not sure any EV manufacturer is building great cars - but I am sure the ones that are not racing to be the first will come damn close to releasing a great EV when the time comes for that certain company, that some think are asleep behind the wheel LOL.
