Master Warning Light - car won't start

Three days ago I drove the car for a quick in town trip in the evening.

The next morning, I went out to use the car and the engine wouldn't start. (This is from a few days memory) The dash came on, but I couldn't get into reverse and the engine didn't start. I hit power to turn it off and try again. At some point, a message flashed on the screen about putting the car into P. So I pressed the P button but nothing really happened. At some point the Master Warning Light came on as well as the check engine light. There was also a light for the P button visible.

This morning I came out to the car, and removed the emergency brake hoping it might be the issue. Removed E-brake to no avail. There is electrical power when I open the car door. The dash does beep but all I see is the Master Warning Light and Check Engine Light.

I don't currently have an obd/ii scanner or techstream.
