2014 Prius Plug-in Currently on Michelin Defender on stock wheels. Priority: Quiet and Comfort MPG and Thread Life Price Driving Environment: (Southern) California Weather but preferably All-Season but includes a rare driving on snow (Big Bear). I am currently checking the following. Michelin CrossClimate Plus Bridgeston Turanza QuietTrack Do all the TPMS sensors need to be replaced when tires are changed? Thank you.
no need to replace the sensors, but if a battery dies when you aren't replacing them, you either have to remove the tire again, or ignore the light. they are usually good for around 10 years. i have michelin energy savers a/s. 30k and hardly any wear, but i drive easy. they are quiet, smooth and great mpg's, but not cheap
It felt like a rougher ride. But I am comparing that rough ride to a 2005 Galant with Goodyear Comforted tires that I previously owned. My Prius does have the toyota oem rear sway bar. So I don't know if that is contributing to that rough ride. The Defender was installed last year if I am not mistaken before I bought the car. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I'll check those from the surrounding stores near me if those are available. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
A 2005 Galant ES, a base model, is loud like no sound proofing material at all. Replacing the the tires with that Goodyear Comfortred made it a better car. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I replaced out Primes OE toyo's with the "goldilocks" but no negative review here concerning the refit. I had harmony's for the last full set I purchased for the older car and two of them were still on the car after 100k.
I checked the service history. Defender got mounted and installed by a Toyota dealer 07/2017 at 100,037 miles. That Toyota dealer installed the tires but was incorrectly mounted the tires on the wheels/rims. I had to spend cash to have those corrected. Car mileage after last month's service was at 158,600 miles. According to last month's service report, the tread depth are "4/32 RF RR AND 5/32 LF LR". Maybe that is the reason why of the premature decrease in the expected miles on the Defender and the decrease in ride comfort? Defender has 80k miles right?
80k's at 2/32" remaining tread? You're not that far off: I'd guesstimate new depth is 10/32, and with min 2/32 gives a "useable" tread life of 8/32. Two of yours are at 4/32, have a remainder of 2/32. So, they've gone through 6/8th's of their "life". 6/8 times 80k is 60k. You're pretty close, at 58.6k~. That's more straightforward than I was expecting lol.
I have a 2002 first generation Prius I need help my triangle light and brake light came on at the same time and my car just stopped accelerating and wouldn't turn back over after I shut it off what do I do and what is wrong please help
Probably the 12-Volt battery... the small battery. Or worse the HV battery. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
