    Want the new vaccine NOW?

Your opportunities are probably shrinking now that the human Guinea-pig phase is winding down, which I find to be kinda interesting because that particular species does not hail from Guinea, nor are they very "piggy."

"First-in-line" folks will probably have some pretty interesting job titles:

    Sub skipper
    BUFF pilot
    Radar operator
    Missileer

After that will probably be "the usual suspects"
    Hollywood elite and influential politicians.
    Sports stars.
    The wealthy.
Perhaps the odd ER doctor..... ;)

    So......
If you found yourself at the 'head-of-the-line' for the COVID shot, and the med-tech was thunking the air bubbles out of the syringe and tearing the foil pack on the alcohol pad.......
    WOULD you take it????

    Fun Fact:

People who are first in line won't really have the opportunity to respectfully decline to participate.
"The right to choose" in vaccinations.....IF you are senior enough is usually limited to "left arm, right arm or tooshie?"

    What say you?

As I currently test Positive, it is unlikely I am first in line. There will be no hesitation when I am eligible.

(This would have been the first year I was recommended to get pnenomia (sp?) Vaccine, too late!)

Yeah, I'll wait until all of the side effects shake out on the guinea pigs.

IV administered. Heck, experienced nurses screw up IVs sometimes.....so I imagine this would NOT be something you could get at your local Walgreens.

I'm in NY. My understanding is that the people most at risk of catching it are medical workers, emergency services types, and transit workers. I had assumed when a vaccine came around that they would be at the head of the line.

As for me? I have something like five nines of probability that I'll survive the covid, even if I don't like it. I don't know what exactly has been done for this "Operation Light Speed" program. I know lately the fed. govt. has put brutal pressure on various groups and agencies so they will do as they are told, regardless of whether it is actually wise.

I'm fine with letting Hollywood movie stars or big politicians rush to the head of line...

    Prayers sent, pal!
I'm presuming that you won't take offense.

    Pneumonia?
As far as I know, they'll give it to you @ Walgreens if you have the right kind of paperwork.
Generally speaking....this "paperwork's" effectiveness depends solely on which old white dude's picture is on the paperwork.

    Guidelines.....

Ok, it has been two weeks since I was Positive, so today we retested and we both show Negative. (She was always Negative)

I will enquire at my drugstore if they have the Pneumococcal vaccine.

In that story, the IV is not for the vaccine, but instead for this treatment for the already ill:
"... a new therapeutic developed by Eli Lilly. “The treatment is a monoclonal antibody cocktail. It is administered through an IV.""

For the vaccines, the state has purchases regular syringes and needles.

As for when I'll go get it, that depends on additional information not yet released. Maybe I should get an MMR booster now instead, then wait until Fauci speaks candidly with P46.

Sinovac has been rattling around here for a while, but not such that I could join. Just today Shanghai airport* had a case or few, so the current play would be to fly there and get roped in.

In a general sense I would 'present arm' to many vaccines in development. I have been hiding my lungs since late January, and immune syst ought to crank up on something. Let's get this party started.

    *one of them.

I'm pretty sure they'll have the pneumonia vaccine. We got ours at our nearby Sam's Club pharmacy. (Also the flu and shingles shots.)

    Shingles vaccination....highly recommended!!
Two of my family members suffered piteously from this ailment, and the efficacy (everyone's new "word" of the week!) seems to be on par with that claimed from FTL COVID serum producers.

    +1 about the shot.
It IS a single injection (1 CC syringe?)
Word I'm getting from inside the wire is that "testing" is already underway in selected military facilities, and if past is prologue we're gonna see stories from "the usual suspects" ranging from those about military distribution to enforcing mandated injections - a la 1972 Yugo.

    Popcorn at the ready!!!

    As for me?
I'd take it today if they let me...... ;)
