    Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you selling the car? We are moving overseas. Otherwise we'd keep it.
Are you the original owner? No. We bought it from CarMax on 10/18/2013 with 43,467 miles.
Do you have a clean title in hand? Yes.
Has the car been garage kept? No, it's been parked outside since we bought it.
Where has the car been operated? Since we purchased it, always Houston, Texas.
Does everything on the car work? Yes.
Is there any cosmetic damage? Nothing major - just the normal wear and tear given the age and mileage. I did repair a scrape on the passenger side front bumper using a spray can and it's not body shop quality. The rubber buttons on one of the smart keys are falling off but it still works. There is some tree sap on the roof because we park it under a tree in front of our house. We've scraped the front air dam on parking bumpers a few times. There is a paint scrape on the left rear corner of the bumper.
Has it been in any serious accidents? Not since we have owned it. Someone backed into it in September 2019 and the rear bumper cover was replaced by a professional body shop.
Will you take half of the advertised price? No. Please don't make a ridiculous offer.
Does the car come with any kind of warranty? No.
Who has driven the car? Since we bought it, only my wife and I. We are responsible adults in our 40's and 50's. Our children do not drive yet.
Can I take test drive? Absolutely, but I will take a picture of your driver license beforehand.
Do you have receipts for the repairs: Yes, but since most of the repairs were done by me at home, they are receipts for parts.
Can I have it looked at by a mechanic? Sure, after we agree on a price we can schedule an inspection for some evening or on a Friday.
What is the status of the hybrid battery pack? As far as I know, it's the original one. We've never gotten a check engine light or any other indication that the hybrid battery pack is going bad. I've never hooked it up to an OBD scanner.
Will we have an agreement of sale? Yes, a very simple one stating the VIN and the price.
What payment methods do you take? Cash only.
Will you ship the car? No. Local pickup only.
Will you accept a payment plan? No.
Where will we transfer the money, sign the title, and exchange the keys? Inside the Regions Bank on 11th Street in the Houston Heights.
Will you save me some sales tax and fib about the price on the agreement of sale? No.

We are moving to Korea, specifically Geoje Island south of Pusan, to assist with the construction of a semisubmersible offshore floating production unit. So there is a Kia or Hyundai in my near future. :)

Also FWIW even though I only joined this board a few months ago, I've been a "lurker" since 2013 and I want to say that this site is a treasure trove of wonderful information and amazing people. It truly shows that using the power of the hive mind can make things better for a whole community. I've performed quite a few maintenance jobs on my Prius with my laptop on the workbench, playing a video or looking at pictures on this site. In no order, that includes the replacement of the capacitor multi-function display, using a multimeter as a jumper to start the pump after replacing the coolant, the key fob "chicken dance," and the rear seat cupholder "long bolt" hack. I'm a little sad that I never actually CONTRIBUTED to this site, but I never found an instance where my experiences would add to the conversation - mostly because the content was of such high quality.

Not sure what car I'll get when I return to the US in about 2 years. Given my daily driving habits, I think the best thing for me would be a plug-in hybrid with a range of 30 miles, so a Prius Prime seems like it would be just about perfect. Not sure I'm ready to go all-electric yet, since I take weekend trips from Houston to Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, the Hill Country and South Padre which are 250-350 miles away and I don't think I'll deal well with "range anxiety." But the technology keeps improving so you never know.

Honestly, you can easily probably average 600miles combined MPG with a Prime. You would have no problem taking your trips there and back probably haha (y)

Anyways, good luck with your move and job!
