Difficulties accelerating on highway, heard a sound on drivers side of the car, after sound check engine, Red Triangle and TPM light came on hybrid battery was at one bar and draining not charging, then speedometer turned off, lost all acceleration at stop light stalled... Restarted drove home pulled codes from tech stream codes were p0a0d p0a0f p3190 b2795 b1271....... Cleared codes Added Techtron Concentrated to gas tank at 1/2 tank. Cleaned MAF, Clean Throttle Body... Hit it hard on the highway to one exit about 1 to 2 miles accelerated fine up to 70 drove regularly for another 10 minutes scanned with Tech stream to check for pending.. Any ideas
Which codes (DTCs) did you discover when you "scanned with Tech stream to check for pending" ? Here is the workup for DTC P0A0F with INF 204, 205, 533 and 534) https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/Prius%20Service%20Manuals%202004/%E4%BF%AE%E7%90%86%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8C/04pruisr/05/21bpm/0a0f204.pdf
These are the codes I found, I did not notice a pending just active. What does the snowflake icon mean in techstream? p0a0d p0a0f p3190 b2795 b1271 Thank you for the workup
The snowflake is the icon for "freeze frame" data. That is a snapshot of operating conditions when the code set. It might also contain an "inf" code- or information subcode that can give a more detailed description of the fault. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Here is another (overlooked) workup for DTC P0A0F with INF 238 : https://share.qclt.com/%E4%B8%B0%E7%94%B0%E6%99%AE%E7%91%9E%E6%96%AF%E5%8E%9F%E5%8E%82%E8%8B%B1%E6%96%87%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8Cpdf%E6%A0%BC%E5%BC%8F/Prius%20Service%20Manuals%202004/%E4%BF%AE%E7%90%86%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8C/04pruisr/05/21bpm/0a0f238.pdf When available, knowing the INF (subcode or detailed code) for a specific OBD2 code (DTC) may help isolate the problem.
It's interesting that you got a P0A0D while sitting in the driver seat. That means the car thought a HV Safety Interlock triggered. That should have a subcode 351 if it happened while the car was running, a 350 subcode if the car was stopped. The 2 safety interlocks are the safety switch on the HV battery, and a shorting plug inside the inverter that connects two contacts when the cover is in place. The other option is there was some electrical transient in that circuit that made the car think that happened.
Funny this is an issue I drove about 2500 miles since I cleaned the Hybrid fan, the Orange tab was not making the contact properly a few months ago I had to fiddle with it, could that have just been a stored code?
