I just tried mine from about 8 metres away, just one push and hold of unlock button, and after about 3 seconds the windows started going down. You need to hold the button till it gets all the way down (unless you only want it ½ or ¼ way down).

On all the Australian models - but you have to ask the salesman or workshop to activate it.

They can't go up via remote? Only with the key?

They CLOSE and OPEN in AUSTRALIA - but I've heard that USA doesn't allow it - only open.

I was wondering how to do this, and something I find interesting is that you can’t roll the windows back up in the us. Since I own a model 3 as well and I can roll the window up from the app. So why can’t you do that on the Prius?

It's dealer configurable. The feature is disabled by default. You can roll up/down the window via the key-in-door method too (separate feature and also has to be enabled by the dealer).

I think it's silly too but I'm guessing it's Toyota being conservative and avoiding litigation. (Although to be fair, with such a short range on the fob, you'd think the operator will be close enough to see what's going on).

I also have a mondeo (mk4, 2007), and you can stop the auto rolldown/roll up anytime when you press the remote again.

    On the USA, that's correct.

Apparently, elsewhere in the world (from the experiences here, Australia, UK, Portugal, etc), you CAN roll down and UP with the remote.

I can confirm that is an option that shows on the Carista app, and I have it working perfectly on my 2016 gen4 since last Friday (when I got my Carista OBD).

    Oh wow.

Very useful where I live, Thank you!

    ---------------

I'm sure the whole accelerator pedal 'sticking' with American drivers lawsuits turned them off to offering Americans anything extra.
