Yes, his little lithium packets are now inside prototype 3D printed modules. Precision of 3D printing is less precise than final production plastic modules will be but gives a basic sense of how they'll look and allows further testing before first big production order.

yup, still tweaking the final 3D design, ex: the temperature sensor holder at the bottom of the case need to be tighter by 1.5mm
I am printing a new case now just to confirm.

Lol, Orange safety plug in and their terminals that connect the pack exposed... Be careful!!!

And what are those white stickers on top of each module? I've not seen that in Gen3 packs before? Is that something you did or did it come like that?

I just unbolted everything to take it out, tomorrow I will pull the plug.
The stickers are from whoever did the refurbished battery when I bought it.
I had to replace one module and its been doing fine but it is old and tired.

I will be careful when doing everything for sure and will post pictures.

Thanks, that's what I figured those labels were from...

I always pull the orange plug before I unbolt anything. It's the first thing I do after I access the spare tire area.

At last the Dr Prius Lithium prototype is installed!!!

Took her for a 30 mile drive with no problems, before I was recently having to turn the fan higher to 3-4 speed when using the AC on Lo.

Today I actually turn it up to 73F with the fan speed at one bar and the outside air was 75F.

The AC was noticebly performing better.

I was using Eco mode for the first 5 miles then put her in Power mode!!!

At first start display showed full battery and only dropped one bar
The whole time I drove her.

Until I got on a flat road and tried to drain it using only battery.
I got up to 52 mph before the ICE kicked on and thats when I noticed it dropped another bar.

The battery quickly charged up to full within a couple minutes tops.

Overall nothing but a big smile on my face as I drive the quickest prius in my area.

Will post more as I use it.
Im having problems uploading pictures right now.

Turn on Dr Prius app right away.
At the end of the 30 mile test the batteries never past 95F.

I took 2 good inclined roads.
They are more than a quarter mile each the battery only dropped one bar from full.

Man alive -- that block voltage graph makes it look like the modules are way out of balance. Than I see that the voltages are all at 18.3x so pretty close. I had to zoom way in to read um (block voltages), but it was well worth the effort.
Thanks for all the pics and camper for hinting at the pouch size used in the modules.

Is anyone testing this Lithium upgrade on a 2001 Prius?

Give EV mode a try. I was able to get over 3 miles in all electric, which is very good for a 2010 Gen3. The pack I replaced was barely able to get a single mile, although that pack was likely a bit worn out. I also appreciate how light weight the pack is, it makes removing the battery an incredibly easy job.
