California Youth are more into modifying Prius with many aftermarket parts that are available from Japan. So it will depend which part of the country.

I don’t know or have seen any youths drive a Tesla. Probably the cost is a factor.

 

A younger cousin bought a model 3 fresh out of college on his first job last summer. Lots of people in their mid 20s buy SUVs that cost more per year than a tesla. Then again the below 30 crowd mainly buys used cars if parents aren't helping. Prius and mirai definitely don't sell in that under 30 demographic.

They like it because it says "Tesla", not because it's an EV. One of them actually rode in an S and he was impressed, but he complained about it being too quiet. He wanted to hear the horsepower.

In NJ, they're not interested. When I had one, one of them called it a vagina on wheels.

Well these must be very well off 20 year olds or they all got subprime loans.

I would imagine that to be the case for most young buyers. It’s gotta be fast and loud.
