Just purchased a 2015 gen 3 from an elderly lady with 25k miles. Joined this forum and amazed at the collective info and knowledge here. Going to install a OCC ASAP. First fill up with non ethanol gas computer shows average 54.5 mpg. Will check actual mpg next fill up. Original EP20 tires have plenty of tread but approaching 6 years old by date code so will be replacing tires soon. They are noisy tires.

Welcome to Priuschat! Hope you enjoy your new Prius! There is no going back to a non-hybrid once you get a Prius.

Nah you got that wrong. See going to a Tesla is going backwards in quality. Going to a Prime or Mirai would be the direction a Toyota fan would go in.

Yeah the EP20 get noisy as they age/wear. Become a menace in any amount of snow too. That said, they're pretty cheap, and very good for mpg.

An elderly lady with 25k miles? ;)

New tires today. Bridgestone Turanza Quiettrack’s. Very quiet but time will tell once they break in.
Also received Veepeak obd2 scanner and ran life expectancy test with Dr Prius app. Was pleased it passed with 78.11% out of 90. It’s a 2015 manufactured Dec 2014 so almost 6 years old.
Oil catch can also came, so time to get acquainted with some diy on the engine.
Plan to change transmission fluid at next oil change too!
First fill up with 352 miles was 6.6 gallons, 53.3 mpg.
Found a Valero station close by that has non ethanol gas for $1.99.

The HV battery likes to be used and that one hasn't been. If this is a long term purchase, I suggest looking into the merits of grid charging vs wait & see if it fails under warranty. Plenty of threads here so have a look around.

Also, with the VIN you can check and see what's been done by Toyota dealers here: Welcome to Toyota Owners

    GOOD LUCK!

Does it say 90% is max, say in the dr Prius info? A little odd.

So the Dr Prius app results are not good? I would think if the battery was not well my gas mileage would suffer but I am new to the Prius and obviously still learning.

First of all, that is just an estimate. Second, the battery is healthy. Just drive it regularly and you should be fine for a long time. Once you do, the results may actually improve. And you are still under warranty for another 2 years.

How many miles per year do you expect to do?

So what's E-10 selling for in your area, if E-0 is selling for $1.99? Myself, I burn lots of E-10 because I refuse to pay extra for E-0, and still average mid 50's per tank.

It’s around 1.89. The place I was getting E-0 is $2.45. I found a couple places with puregas and one had it for $1.99. Hope it stays that way.

Might want to checked for a clogged battery fan especially if the previous owner had pets.
