That upcoming Jeep Wrangler PHEV is going to be very popular in many markets if the pricing is right.

BBC indicated that they're a bit on the nose in UK at the moment - it seems that many were bought for tax concessions - and they're then driven purely as Hybrids, with not very good results. Would have been a week or 2 ago.

    Found it:

Yeah, we have a thread on that: BBC News: Plug-in hybrids are a 'wolf in sheep's clothing'... | PriusChat

Something similar happened with the first gen Volt and some of the fleet users not bothering to charge up. It's not just the fleet owners but the drivers as well.

Here, we have 2nd Gen LEAFs as city vehicles. (I've seen an i-MIEV too) and they last all day on a charge (the LEAFs).

    Enforcement uses Prius c.

Haven't seen any PHEVs as fleet vehicles yet.

The private owners not plugging were likely to be in California here, as they just wanted HOV lane access. Also happened with the PiP, and maybe with the Prime. I don't know the timeline of the phase out of PHEVs from the HOV stickers. Some of those that bought a Prime because they could get it for less than Prius, might not have at the intention of plugging, or simply not the access.

As pointed out in the other thread, the issue isn't with the PHEVs. They can be part of the solution for reducing emissions. The issue is with the regulations, and how the incentives work.

As for this thread, the public might be starting to see the appeal of PHEVs beyond the economy and emission reasons. Which will help sales like it helped Tesla.
