Calm my friends. To convert from ICE to EV is not trivial but mostly held up by converting from one set of raw materials, ores, to another.

One local dealership has a large sign that says they have EVs in stock lol. They must've read that article.

The shut downs creating shortages is a common theme among many products. It is just the nature of a smaller supply.

"A series of roadblocks are contributing to the shortfall, including battery shortages and manufacturers prioritizing shipments to China and Europe rather than North America."

For the near future, it will be best to accept that we(NA) aren't important to most EV companies.

Seems that the company without "dealerships" isn't having this problem, or are they?

I think they are one of the few EV companies not stiffing NA for China and Europe.

I drive by the Tesla staging area just about every day and the car carriers are piling up back there.

In 10-12 days we'll get the preliminary 2020 Q3 numbers. I suspect they will be better than Nikola, Nissan, GM, and others.

It's going to take a while for "dust" to settle of COVID impact.

DC/NoVA area had perhaps among the best car pool + mass transit use, and now we are in shambles. I believe used car sales are up here, as people ditch mass transit. But also people are just not going into the office at all. So gridlock traffic is no longer the norm either.

Hard to see where this goes. But as far as electric vehicles, whether I like it or not, that is getting strong political support, so I suspect any drop off in EV will be addressed via legislative "encouragement". I am just waiting for a Virginia politician to recommend California-style free HOT lanes for EVs, which might be doable post-COVID due to less traffic.

Piling up in a good way, Bob. The trucks lining up and emptying and the cars are disappearing as fast as they can.

We do know in Q2 there were large exports. Q3 appears to be 120,000 or more teslas (estimates range from 110,000- 170,000), but we don't know the split between US and China plants and how many US built tesla's will be exported. Tesla didn't have many supply chain problems in Q3.
