:D I love the honest and direct kind of answers.

Look up the "Greenbean" company. For the love of Pete. Why would you use a car dealer?

Yeah, well if they don't it will be because they don't know how to or to refuse to charge people for their generally overpriced and incompetent "service." :D As we all know, the "dealer" service depts are primarily set up to sell stuff at a premium, whether it helps you out with your issues or not. (Blanket statement to be sure, but a reasonable rule of thumb).

Just to be clear too for the recent poster or anyone else who comes along behind, I have no direct experience with greenbean. I learned about them on this site and looked them up in case I might ever need their services. The advantage, for the most recent poster is that they come to you - no need to try to drive a dead car.

the battery starts the engine every few seconds/minutes depending on circumstances. you need it all the time. but most failing batteries will still get you to a repair shop, they don't generally die suddenly.
