So he got a later 2017. I thought BSM could be useful but it was not available on early 2017 Trim Two.

Jerry, I have new OE Toyota Weatherproof mats (front and cargo for a Gen 4 Prius - I had Weathertechs from my 2016 now in my 2020). If you are interested PM me.

Haha..thanks. Thought I should move into the future with the 2012 instead of the 2010. (y)

Plus...it was a good excuse to use a photo from the road trip we just got back from...I think this one was from Capitol Reef National Park.

The only road tripping we did this summer was to the back yard:oops:.

Hopefully on your way back to MN you didn't hang out too long in SD:eek:.

Or if you did, hopefully you had your mask on(y).

Nope....SD was pretty disgusting when we were there....I hate to say that...but it was true. We were going to just hit the badlands and then go south to ScottsBluff Nebraska. However, on the spur of the moment we decided to go thru the black hills. However, I forgot Sturgis was going on. We stopped at Mt. Rushmore and basically walked out. The place was pretty busy...and not a lot of mask usage going on...scary stuff!

I'll keep this out of FHOPol, but not surprised:cool:.

A couple bad apples spoils the bunch:rolleyes:.

But glad you made it out of there(y).

Yeah..It is too bad mask usage is such a political hot topic...but it is what it is... Needless to say, we wore a mask absolutely everywhere, and pretty much avoided people...for the most part.

There are 2 types of cargo mat. Jerry needs the one for Trim Two and Three with the spare tire.

When I saw that, I thought, "Perfect!! Exactly what we would want."

Made in September, according to Todd, so late year. But looking at the service records at the Toyota owners website, I see it still uses the canister and filter element oil filter. No problem. Simplifies filter purchases since it matches the Prime.

Oops! Edit to correct my foggy memory. I checked the owners site. It was ordered in July, 2017 and went into service September 22, 2017.

Thanks, but not needed. I looked back at the listing and it showed the mats. So I called Todd. He said he took them out to put in the car while we were at the credit union, but he'd locked the car to keep customers out of it. So he tossed them in the 2016 sitting next to it and then forgot to go back later with a key to put them in. I'm planning to go over there this afternoon to get them.

I appreciate the offer, but it turns out I don't need them. See above reply to Prodigyplace.

Yikes!! Bad timing. Back in 2007, I went to the Kawasaki Councours Owners Group annual rally in that area. All the restaurant owners were thrilled at how much more civilized we were.

Thanks. I wasn't so sure I'd care for the Blizzard Pearl. But it really does look nice sitting in the driveway. Almost as striking as Hypersonic Red or Blue Magnetism. The only blemishes are a little ding in the bottom of the side of the bumper cover behind the left rear wheel and a tiny spot of touch up paint in the same vicinity. It barely shows in this crop from one of the pictures I posted above.

I had Weathertech in my 2016 Prius 3 (had a spare) and the cargo mat fit perfectly in my 2020 AWD-e (NO SPARE  and no place to put one).

Is the cargo floor the same height as the Prius with the spare? That would be the differentiating factor.

Mine went into service in October 2016. BTW, I do not care for the white garnish on the steering wheel but I notice it has a "glitter" to it I had not heard mentioned here.

All that I know is that the Weathertech cargo mat from my 2016 Prius 3 fits just fine in my 2020 Prius AWD-e that did not come with a spare tire.

My Prime was ordered Dec, 2016 and went into service Feb, 2017. So it's a smidgeon older than my wife's "new" Prius and has a LOT more miles -- 45k vs 20k.

What about the "learning curve" mentioned in title; how's that going?

I find myself I resist "improvements", that's at least part of the reason we sat out 4th Gen. I don't think tactile and intuitive is making a comeback any time soon though.

Funny you should ask. I just got off the phone with her. She called from the car in the driveway and then had me call her back. So, she's all set with the bluetooth, something she didn't have in the 2007 trim 2. She sounded pretty happy.

She also said she couldn't figure out how to hang the cargo net. I was going to remove it from her old car but she said she'd already done it. But she didn't remove the knobs it hangs from. Grrrr. What was that I keep telling people about assuming? I just got back from getting her floor mats from Todd. I'm not driving back there again for those. I'll find something else.

    Medel.

I have found that Gen 4 was a significant improvement over my 2004 Gen 2 Prius (I never had a Gen 3).
    • Improved MPG (52 vs 46, both right at the EPA rating)
    • Improved handling (lower center of mass and stiffer frame)
    • I really love the safety features (even better on my 2020 than the now dead 2016) especially the Dynamic Cruise Control
    • I miss the Heads up display that was on my 2016, not on the 2020
    • No place for a spare tire in the AWD-e  (I have it in the cargo area, but need to find a way to tie it down)
    • There were no indications of the engine problems from the Gen 3 in my 4 years of driving a Gen 4
    • As of 2020 Toyota
      • has stopped supplying a CD player in their media center (I purchased a portable CD player for now)
    • supports Apple Play but not Android. This almost made me so upset that I considered not getting the new Prius. At some point I'll replace the whole Media center with a third party one as I had to in my 2004 Prius when two successive media center CD drives failed.
