My wife just bought a 2014 three with Entune and navigation, the nav map is from 2013 and I'd like to get a later map but I can't find where the micro sd card slot is located. I looked in the owners manual under navigation and it said, "see the Entune manual" the Entune manual said, "see the owners manual". I know the card and slot are tiny but after looking everywhere I could think of no luck. If anyone knows the location for the card slot and could let me know it would be great. Thanks, Tim
No dvd under the seat, I think I know where this is going: no nav sd card this is a dvd update only? I was thinking by 2014 they had moved to the sd card.
What I found was that maps on my 2015 Prius FOUR could be updated (at excessive cost, so I haven't done it: I use the navigation apps on my phone) using a gizmo plugged into the USB slot in the center console. It has to be done by the dealer and involves the use of a vehicle-specific activation code. From memory, it's likely to cost $300 at least, including labor.
As mentioned above, this HU has internal flash to store the map. It can be updated by using usb stick with the update files. As far as I know there is no other way than using the Toyota tool to create the files on that usb stick. (So it has no SD slot.)
And by "vehicle-specific activation code" I mean specific to the VIN or to the Serial No. of the head unit.
At times When I’m frustrated & stuck in road construction zones, I wish I can reach down for a dvd, pop it and watch a movie.
My “smartphone” is from 2015, it can only playback 720p. That’s max resolution for dvd video quality playback
