I got no where with the inverter recall other than they did the software update. Toyota does not believe there is a problem with the inverter despite the code.

In techstream I dont have the option to do a health check. A lot of features are missing with my version.

After I picked it up from Toyota I drove about 10 miles and the code came back. And this time I got the red battery icon and the brake icon. I got these codes as well.

You said the 12 volt battery was 12.7 volts with the car in ready mode. It should be 14+ volts.
Test the battery with the car off for 30 minutes. And how old is the battery?
Junk yards have used, working inverters...
Have you tried calling corporate Toyota? The locals ones don't really seem to want to help much.

I'm not sure how old the battery is, theres a sticker on it but i cant make out what month and year. I tested the battery after the car had been off for 45 minutes and it was 12.82, it is 14+ when the car is in ready.

This whole time I have also been talking to the place I got the car from. It is a dealership but they sold me the car cash. I told them immediately the battery was bad and they tried to point me to a place they bought the battery from. That place would not work with me so I struck a deal with the dealership to take back the battery and they will have it rebuilt or get a new one. I just dropped off the battery a few minutes ago but they are saying a turn around time of like tomorrow which isn't enough time to rebuild a battery properly.

I will see what they say tomorrow. Buying an inverter is not so bad but I really want to avoid having to buy a new battery if I can.

Thanks for that i didnt know used cars got a 15 day period for return if major repairs are needed.

I hope itll hold up because obviously its a very used car and the dealer did no paperwork with me. The title was reassigned by the dealer to me, ive already paid to register the car so im not sure how that'll work since I'll be getting a title in the mail in my name. I cant just take the car and title back to them right now i have to wait for the title but I dont want to miss the 15 day period.

Disconnect the 12V battery for 2 hours.Find a Used Prolong Prius Battery Charger,Charge the Battery. This would be a cheap option.
