hello again, because of i am new here have few strange questions.
i want to keep my batteries life long, but at the same time want to do maximum fuel economy. most of time my working way and back home is about 7-8ml, so charging always enought to ride without engine start and use fuel. what if i always use battery to ride? sometimes i will charge and discharge batteries 2 simes a day. will this bad for battery? how much charge and discharge cycle has prius batteyr? i know that li-ion batteries life decrease when you charge and discharge, it has limitied number of charge discharge. so what is the best way, how to use batteries to keep it's life longer?

i am going to leave this car minimum next 3-4 years. not car hars 121000 ml on odometer.
climate is normal in my countru, summer temperature is about 30-38 C, and winter minimum is about -10 -15 C.

is here anyone who always uses battery every day ride?

I mean, the PiP is meant to be charged so the battery chemistry is different than the regular Prius. I think what you’re doing is reasonable. It’s pretty efficient as a hybrid too so once in a while, it’s not a bad idea to let the engine run and use some fuel so you could go into hybrid mode to do so. (so say the first part of the day, use electricity and the second part, instead of charging again, go into hybrid mode).

I don’t know how many charge cycles but the battery warranty here for the PiP is 8 years or 160,000km (100,000 miles).

    Reasonable, yes.
    Necessary.....no.

From what I remember about the expected range on battery, you could certainly charge it only every other day.......or every third day and run a few miles on gas.

Being obsessive about NOT using gas can sometimes turn out bad.

Where you live, is electricity really that much cheaper than gas ??

electricity price here 1kw is about 0.08$
and 1 liter premium petrol price is about 0.7$

i have 70,000 miles on my 8 year old pip. 50,000 of which is ev only. i rarely use gas anymore.

i am confidant that this car will go a few hundred thousand miles without issue, charging everyday and driving ev only.
what gives me this confidence? other pip owners who have already done it, sooner and faster than me.

why would anyone think that there is a need to be cautious about ev driving in their pip?

there are many bevs and phevs that have routinely done hundreds of thousands of miles without any problems with the battery.
if anything, toyota can do it even better.

When not in shelter in residence land, I'd plug in twice a day (once at work and once at home):).

I still do that when I am essential, just less frequently;).

The charging system is designed for something like 40,000 charges. So why not use them(y).

Without knowing how many MILES (or KM) you get from each, those numbers are useless.

BUT.....if you can get to work AND back on a single charge, why bother ??

Because he can't. His commute is 38 miles one-way IIRC.

BUT ... you didn’t reply to the OP, you replied to @Raytheeagle and said “you”, implying Ray and not “he/she”, implying OP.

OK, you have a valid point there.
    Somewhat weak but still valid.
    I DID say "if". :)

It is easier to find fault when you are LOOKING for it.
It seems that some people LIVE just to put down something that I post.

Like the post immediately before this one.
Totally unnecessary and contributes NOTHING useful.

That would be one way to do it:).

Realizing that others are around would be another:whistle:.

Treat others how you'd like to be treated is the motto I follow;).

But I "ignore" the responses and only see the fall out:cool:.

    I usually know why though(y).
