2007 Prius, just inspected (July 2020) and new 12v battery.

Was driving the week after inspection and the red triangle of death appears. Codes indicate hybrid battery failure. Question is do I replace the battery or sell as is and if so, what's it worth?

Is daughter's car but she's going off to college (maybe given COVID-19) but we also have a Nissan leaf that she can drive.

Either way, I'm selling the Prius, just not sure to replace battery or not.

If you get a "new" battery, the car can sell for about $4500-$5000. If you don't get a battery, this car can get about $2000. So I would just suggest selling it as is

you can put in a new battery and give them a car that is good to go, or repair it, or replace with refurbished, and give them a car that will fail sometime in the near future.

    I suggest selling as-is.

You're not likely to raise the selling price by more than what it costs to have a new battery installed. (it's not impossible, just not likely)

Might as well suffer less risk and enjoy a wider buyer pool letting it go as-is for $1500-2000.
