I am sure there are other Prius owners in Oklahoma that would be willing to help you change the battery, if/when you need too. It's only 5 years old so you should okay for several years. You want to drive in "Eco Mode". It makes adjustments to the throttle pedal which makes it easier to NOT be a speed demon! It also adjust how the compressor works and a few other things.
Guys, After much thought and discussion with my friends and reading your input and advice, I have decided to keep my car. The annoying TPMS light is fixed and I got 4 new tires as my birthday gift. I can't be happier. Thank you so much for your input and advice. I really appreciate it.
Late to the party. But I think you made a good decision. Without the debate over specifics, which you've already heard, basically a 5 year old vehicle, paid off, with only 30,000 miles on it? There's no way I would trade it in or sell it. Just keep enjoying your mileage wise, almost brand new Prius.
My 2012 Prius v has 23k miles on it. I have no reliability issues except a 12 volte battery replacement last year. It still cheaper to keep it, even if I had to spend $4k for a new HV battery.
You probably won't need a new HV battery for 20 years. (My personal prediction). Our '12 has 30k miles. I've only replaced the 12 V because my dad decided to listen to music for an hour while my mother attended Mass. Still the battery is with me as it holds a decent charge. Just a protective measure as they are very old and I don't want them stuck somewhere because the battery isn't as healthy anymore... moto g(7) power ?
