I am averaging 55 MPG. I am now at 46,000 miles and no problems. Thinking about replacing the 12 Volt as its now 4 years old, has anyone had their 12 volt fail yet?

My 2012 Prius-c2 had a little over 48K miles on it before I turned it in (it was leased) recently. Other than regular maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations, etc), it needed no major repair work. It still had the original tires (about 6/32" tread left), original brakes (still had most of the brake lining left), and original 12V battery. It even still had the original wipers on it too, though the front wipers were just beginning to streak. I had the car for almost 4 yrs. I was able to maintain a lifetime average of over 56 MPG. I now have a new 2016 Toyota Prius-c2.

I am now at 80k miles on my 2012 C-4, No failures of any kind. Just replaced with 3rd set of tires. Regular maintenance, only extra thing done was ATF fluid flush and battery coolant flush around for 50k miles, replaced brake pads at 65k. Wipers I changed since they were streaking, replaced all 3.

    2012 Prius C Model 2 original owner since 06/2012. I just flipped 50,000 miles.

    * Today I just replaced the CR2016 lithium coin battery in my key (Model 2 has the lock/unlock buttons on the key, no separate FOB)
    * I had new tires installed around 30k (Discount Tire special order)
    * I replaced the engine air filter and cabin air filter myself around 25k
    * I had the glove box replaced under warranty (T-SB-0076-13) and it still makes noise.
T-SB-0076-13 : Glove Compartment Rattle over Rough Roads | PriusChat

That's it. I know I'll need to replace my 12V battery in the back seat sometime (Today's measurement: 12.29V overnight rest)
I'm still debating on replacing it with the Toyota OEM battery (Part Number 28800-21181 : $200 + tax for self-install) or installing the Optima DS46B24R (Amazon $147.05 + tax - free shipping)

    2012. 100,000km (62,000mi). Routine maintenance.

    -Oil and filter every 10,000km.
    -Engine air filers at 50,000km.
    -Brake fluid at 3 years.
-Transaxle oil at 100,000km. Oil was still see-through red.
-100,000km inspection shows brake friction materials in like-new condition. Rotors have some grooving. I see Prii with 200,000km, and brake frictions still in very-good condition.

Have had to "unvarnish" brake shoes once due to grab/groan when wet.

Slow-speed, rolling hill, rural, and stop-and-go Japan traffic. Average fuel economy without AC has been 33km/l (77mpg). With AC drops to about 29km/l (68mpg). Fuel mileage is unchanged from new.

Car has never been back to the dealer.

    2012 Prius C-3 w/164,260 miles
front bumper near license plate cracked, fixed with gorilla glue, replaced batteries in key fob last November,

I also use the A1 tires (china) cost me $218 for all 4 that includes installation, these tires are the smoothest riding tires and so far I have 4,000 miles on them and the tires show little wear

So after checking with the local Toyota dealership about a complete tune-up and my reply was, this is for a tune up right? not a monthly payment for a new car?... So I decided to change my own oil and spark plugs the air/cabin filters are on order, I went through all my receipts and I could not find one for swapping out the spark plugs, so these plugs pictured here worked to mileage 164,245 miles. not bad looking for over used spark plugs.

    also......

it took me 20 minutes to change my oil, and 20 minutes to change the spark plugs 2016-08-27 11.24.11.jpg

no, the oil levels stay constant from change to change, which is 6,000 to 8,000 miles, brakes are solid gotta love regenerative, exhaust system looks like new, and since I changed the plugs my acceleration is faster and the engine runs much smoother, I guess I won't wait another 164,000 miles to change the plugs, maybe around the 40k range

Glad I re-found this forum. I'll hit 126k today on my 2012 C. I just replaced a low beam headlight bulb and now see the passenger side is burned out.
My big question: does everyone follow the dealer service program? Last couple oil changes I've been bombarded with a list of scheduled maintenance needed. Thanks for any insight.

I follow what's in the Toyota manual, and do certain things earlier then what Toyota suggest. Change oil every 5,000 miles, change trans fluid every 30,000 miles, will change the inverter coolant at 50,000 to 60,000 miles. The rest I will follow per Toyota.

2013 C with 140,000 miles on it. Replaced rattling glove box door (dealer, recall) at 12k, replaced spark plugs (OEM) at 120k, flushed radiator and inverter radiator at 100k. Got water in rear lights as many others... solved the problem by drilling a small hole behind the mount... hood paint is crazy thin... tons of rock chips... bought a touch-up pen and solved it... The biggest issue is the touch screen being a bit out of alignment (almost impossible to press on anything on the very right side of the screen... solved it by using the App and sending GPS location from the phone to the car, instead typing it in...) besides that, the most reliable car I've ever owned.

2012 car with 100,000 miles. Had to change one front signal light bulb and outside temperature sensor. Nothing else. Drives like new.

138,000 miles and only normal maintenance so far. Just did first brake pad replacement 3 weeks ago. Kept the rotors. Rear brakes still good. Gas mileage averaging mid 50s.

I would hold off on that battery replacement for a while longer, unless you are noticing issues (it's not going to be cheap). The stock 12v in a Prius lasts much longer than the usual 3 years you expect from a new car battery because it is not used to start the car. The hybrid battery handles that task.

I'm glad I found your post. First ever brake pad replacement at 138k, incredible! I'm surprised how well the brake pads wear for these cars, I learned about regen braking today, I'm so late(I had an idea all these years since I noticed the braking would charge the hybrid battery.) What is the current condition of your front rotors since you kept them? We saw our, obviously have been exposed to the outside elements over the years, but not a concern to the service tech.

*95,xxx miles, brake inspection, tire rotation, cleaned rear brakes/adjust parking brake*

There was a tiny bit of scoring on the rotors so naturally the tech recommended changing them as well. I took a look at them and decided against it. With regen braking, a small amount of scoring will have less effect on the life or performance of the new pads than it would with normal brakes. This wasn't at a Toyota shop so they would have put on cheap throw away rotors ( which most of them are these days). The stock Toyota rotors looked much more substantial, so I decided to risk another set of pads on them. Will definitely replace at the next pad change.
