Try removing the orange safety plug and waiting 2 minutes then put it back and try starting.

mmm have you checked the hybrid system?
Is the hybrid battery low? Is the 12v battery low, or dead?
You don't give any information. Do you get lights?
Does the car activate, but the motor just doesn't start? Obviously you have not put a code reader on it.

Search Prius chat and you'll find help on what to check.

I want it served on a platter, how do you expect me to put time into finding a fix? There's some netflix bingeing to do!

Does the engine try to turn over and fails? OR does it not even try to turn over. If it's the latter and not the former, the easiest way for this to be addressed is that the voltage in the battery pack is too low and was drained down by trying to start the previous dead engine too many times. Get a voltage reading for the pack... It needs to be up in the 220V range to be discounted as the problem.

We customers don't hold mechanics accountable for their work anymore so we seek non-pros for answers, we've enabled them not to be proficient in their craft.

Wish I better understood why? I mean if I have a red triangle and the mechanic "fixes" it and I pay lots of money but there's still a red triangle, doesn't that mean I have to hold the mechanic accountable and say "why didn't you fix it?"

But for some reason on Priuschat we have an increasing number of people that accept the red triangle as not mechanics problem and drive home and post on here asking for help? It just doesn't make any sense? Is it because mechanics are becoming bullies or customers are more easily pushed around these days, or something else?

I guess it could be argued that car's are more complex and mechanics are not getting enough training... But heck, even back in the 1980's my mom's car had computers that she would freak out about and not let me tinker with her car because it was "too complex" because it was computerised? I mean that argument doesn't seem to hold much weight when so much information is available online?

People do not want to PAY for help!
They think they should get it for free.

And people want and "easy" fix that won't cost anything.
    I can understand that.

But if you want fix it, then pay someone.
And if they say "this" will fix it, and it doesn't, you do not have to pay for it becaust "it" did NOT fix the problem!

Agreed... But what's concerning is people pay for it even when they don't fix it and then they come to PriusChat and we're like "Take it back. You paid big money for a fix and they didn't complete the job" and they're like "I don't know, they don't seem to want to do more work on it." So I'm like that's crazy and they're like, so what? I mean why are people that feeble?

If you pay by credit card, you can dispute it, and will. I've done it with different things.
But some people don't want to fight, they just give up and except it.
And that's why stores keep doing it...

I just read a reddit post of a guy who took his custom 72 VW bug in for a fuel leak he couldn't fix even though he does all his own work and they kept trying to sell him transmission work that he knows is not needed and after a month of waiting to get his car back he's been documenting the fact that mechanic had been using it as his personal vehicle. And everyone on Reddit is like, are you stupid? Why don't you call the cops and report it stolen and hold the mechanic responsible for acting like a criminal... What's with people these days?
