I found it at my local Taylors, SC Walmart stacked in the aisle. All grades are available.

    I bought two boxes. IMG_0284.JPG

No! The price on line is not always the same as in the stores. The best deals are often not advertised.

Since it has been a slow mover, they are probably discontinuing the 12 quart boxes.

My friend in Melbourne, Florida called me and stated their SuperTech house brand 0W16 5 quart bottle was yellow tagged for clearance for $11 a bottle. I founded four at the second Walmart that I visited and bought them all.

There's just something about a 12qt box that's too inconvenient. I saw some in 5w-30 a month or so ago and put 2 in my cart. Then I realized it wasn't (12) 1 quart bottles, but a large 12 qt bag of oil in a box. Not my style. Too much of a mishap waiting to happen. Back on the stack it went and into the cart went 5 quart jugs.

"5 quart bottle was yellow tagged for clearance for $11 a bottle."

I saved a few of the empty 5 quart bottles for waste oil. It wouldn't be too hard to fill them from the 12 quart box.

Probably just a local store blow out for some reason. If I can buy Mobil 1 at that price I'd fill the shopping cart.

seems like it was only yesterday, that many manufacturers began recommending 0w-20. What's it been, at least a couple years now?

People believe the hype but heavier viscosities protect better. Lower viscosities deliver better mpg. ProjectFarm tests lubricants frequently: One video -

Unprocessed sour crude lubricated better than conventional motor oil in one test. Sulfur is a good lubricant it seems.

There is no question that synthetic motor oil is better than conventional motor oils. No question - every test confirms that.

Heavier oil is better for hard work like towing and hot weather. Lighter oil is better for starting in cold weather and gas mileage.

If under warranty - by all means use the manufacturer recommended oil. Don't invalidate a warranty when stuff is so valuable!

Oil and engine experts could go round and round until "the cows come home".

If you only do one thing - change your motor oil. Engines literally quit after very prolonged periods without an oil change. Oil basically goes bad with enough wear and tear via usage.

Walmart also has Super Tech full synthetic 0w16 for $7 / Quart. Cheaper to buy Quart of my piss.

Question: How is big different 0W-20 vs 0W-16 and when it on Prius Engine?

I would not use it on anything older than a Gen 4 Prius. There was a rumor they shipped from the factory with 0W16 but did not require it initially due to supply issues.
