I've never had my car in EV auto. Don't see the need. Either EV or HV.

EV Auto behaves just like EV mode for most people. It stays EV mode until the traction battery is depleted and then change to HV mode. The only way for EV Auto mode to fire the engine and use HV mode while the traction battery is still remaining is to floor the pedal. I never drive like that.

I have used ev auto and like it. The car stays in ev auto all day and uses ev when it is unavailable or after a long down slope and the car has regenerated enough to use. I like it as the auto does all the work and you can look at the scenery and drive! I am very pleased with the results as well! In flat country it may not give good results, I hadn't had the opportunity too try the car in these conditions!

Do you floor the pedal often? When I drive, even on a steep uphill, I don't floor the pedal. I don't have any highway marge or any situation that calls for quick acceleration. For me, the EV Auto Mode never starts the engine until the EV range is depleted, so it has no advantage over using EV Mode.

No I very seldom floor the peddle. I normally drive for fe. I like the results. In the flat lands I probably would use your method of driving.

I live in Colorado. It's a 700 foot net climb to work. Hardly flat lands and I've never wanted EV Auto. If I have the range, I drive all EV. If not, I select when I want the engine to stop and start. Easy.

Same here. At least in this flat countryside, EV Auto it does nothing except use up the EV range, which I may or may not want depending on intended distance and speeds. I also have floored it in EV Auto and the ICE did not come on either warmed up or cold.

If you are driving above the average speed of other drivers I can see that DCC would be a pain. I love it on our '12 PIP, and sorely miss it on our Bolt Premier, but I generally drive the speed limit or a bit less (if traffic allows).
