What did you think they were saying? I'm not sure I got the same impression.

If you look at all the countries that resulted in the least deaths, the answer is clear, lock down had to happen early, all inbound travellers had to go into 14 day isolation and be tested as negative before they are allowed out of lock down.
Australia is still under 100 deaths I believe and all our deaths are recorded because blood testing is part of the autopsy where the death is not in a hospital.

It will be "interesting" to see what happens now the lock downs are starting to be eased a bit.

I had been hearing indirect, through some intermediate species. Though while pangolins were the first suspect, that lead seems to have faded.

there is a climate change warning, and deforestation/development. but the prime mover still seems to be human/animal contact involving saliva, blood and etc., along with poor hygiene practices

Humm, I am already doing social distancing, using a face mask, washing hands frequently, and gargling after coming home from outside. But no nasal irrigation... This must become a new hygienic habit.

One Habit Why Thailand Has So Few COVID Cases | Best Life

Here is a clinical study report referenced in the article on the use of nasal irrigation resulting in reduced symptom and duration on the common cold.

No study specific to COVID-19 has been reported yet.

A new study just published (non-peer reviewed) suggests that animal to human zoonotic transfer of virus at Wuhan wet market did not start the current pandemic of COVID-19.

I hate to make a report of scientific inquiry into a sensational tabloid article on conspiracy theories. But here it is, how some people interpret these scientific findings.

Yeah, the idea that zoonotic jump did not take place in Wuhan wet market is not a new story. There have been epidemiological tracing and phylogenetic analyses both suggesting the origin of the index case for COVID-19 elsewhere. For example, this article in "Science" was published as early as Jan.
Wuhan seafood market may not be source of novel virus spreading globally | Science | AAAS

The "Landmark study" as Mail describes is inappropriate, however they want to make this story fit into their conspiracy theory.

I agree. Duceing nostril sounds... uncomfortable to say the least. But the number of confirmed cases and death by COVID-19 in Thailand is impressively low. If the theory is proven, I am sure that the nasal irrigation is the next public hygiene practice CDC and WHO are going to suggest. Gargling with saline solution OTOH is easy and cheap to do, and I often find it very effective in treating hoarseness and congestion.

Yeah, the Neti struck me as simple and low-tech and appealing before I read more about Naegleria fowleri.

I guess if you're very careful about the water, it's ok.

The advice for a long time here in the U.S. has been to use sterile water. Boiled and cooled, bottled, etc. While getting it from common U.S. tap water is very unlikely, it is can happen, especially if it doesn't come from a regulated municipal water supply.

Naegleria brain amoeba. Also icky. Hot springs appear less inviting.
