Just in case your looking for the perfect wheels for a Prime, here they are. These are the 17” split spoke wheels made for a Prius Plus package that I’ve never seen in person. These wheels are from the official Toyota parts website. They are made for the Prius and will fit perfectly with the recommend tire size listed. They are forged aluminum for weight saving, which would normally be quite expensive, but Toyota was surprisingly reasonable at $1400 for a set. I chose to wrap them in Toyo Proxes which have improved the handling but slightly increased road noise and feel. I have no data on MPG yet, still too soon. The loss should be minimal however considering the overall weight of the new wheels is essentially the same as stock. Do not wait to make this move if you’ve thought about the upgrade. these wheels are becoming scarce, I was told I cleaned out the dealers on the west coast for them to make me a set. Good Luck! Oh and the car is dirty in these pictures, rain won’t let up.
Looks good. I know your new feel/handling is Much Better. Any idea on the total weight ? I'm guessing ~41 lbs based on what I found, did you weigh them ? Rob43
Running the same! I carried these over from my 2012 Prius Performance Plus model. Really enjoy these wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires!
I have Found these on a few sites now, wonder if they made a come back? This is the PART number I found: PTR20-47010 (and after reviewing your title, its a match ). these Toyota sites say the OFFSET is 43 mm; whereas TireRack says my offset for a 2020 Prius should be 35 mm; Maybe i'm not understanding what the Offset means. When I try to plug in a 2020 Prius Prime to make sure it fits, all these toyota sites say it doesn't fit, so maybe i have the wrong model number? One last thought, Why doesn't it come with a Toyota logo Middle Cap?
What SIZE tire did you put on them? What SIZE lug nut? (do you have a model number?) I still wonder if there is a Toyota Center cap that would fit these rims?
After all the research I did, I'll answer my own questions and hopefully help out future visitors... SIZE Tire: P215/45R17 87V (recommended by Toyota: Bridgstone Turanza EL400 02; Toyo PROXZES A20, or Michelin Primacy MXM4 (*I won't be getting any of those tires) Lug Nuts: Part number: PTR27-47100 (sold separately) Center Caps: PTR20-47011 (not a Toyota symbol) and the size is 50mm (** the standard Toyota Symbol versions are 53mm and won't fit) I will also note, they mentioned they come with the order of the Rims. I will also confirm that @Prime-al Rage is correct on these being hard to get... even though I found them on several sites, the one i chose to buy them from noted he only had TWO in stock but found out a shipment of 16 were coming in about April 27th, 2020.
Thought I'd share... Got my wheel/rims put on yesterday! Wrapped them with Goodyear Assurance Weather Ready. Got a sweet deal on the trade in on OEM treads and Goodyear's rebates. They look great! Thanks to @Prime-al Rage for the original post! Just about have the car the way i want it. Tinted Windows, ClearBra... just waiting for my tags so I can put my personalized plates on.
It was an interesting ride... i found them at several place, or at least they were listed on their sites, but the one i chose quickly emailed me and said he only had 2 in stock... luckily though he said that Toyota was shipping 16 into the country with in a week. He grabbed two more for me... I just had to wait a couple weeks to get them.
I too just like Prima-al Rage sprung for the forged 17's. I mounted some 205/50 R17 touring A/S tires and so far the ride is better with regards to handling and cornering. The OEM 15's weight 36lbs per wheel; and tire, the new setup is a total of 42lbs. I am experiencing a slight decline in MPG which is more that tolerable. The finish on the wheels is outstanding and very impressive in person.
