PP 2017 battery degradation?

I seem be getting about 40 EV miles on a full charge in ECO city driving while observing the ECO gauge. It's a lot less for freeway driving. Does this sound about right?

 

I would think so. I get around 28-30 in my '17 with mostly stop & go highway driving. That takes about 5 kWh/mile. The rare times I get to drive much on 35-45 streets, I get 5.5-6 kWh/mile, which would be around 35 miles range.

 

If you are actually getting 40 EV miles out of a full tank, it is excellent. OTOH, if 40 miles is what GOM is showing you, you are likely not getting that distance. At least not in contiguous EV drive.

 

Yes, it's actual miles -- I don't care much about what the guessometer (what you mean by GOM?) shows. It's only in city driving with sticking to the ECO guide though.

 

Biggest thing I've found in EV driving is hard stops. They will KILL your miles/kWh. Absolutely kill it. Our idiot traffic lights often cause hard stops here because they will change at the last second on 60 mph roads and there are no warning flashers. It's either brake hard or run the light. Even at low speeds, you loose all the coasting and regen for that stop and it really lowers the numbers.

 

put it in neutral at 10 mph and see if it rolls smoothly. you should actually pick up a little speed

 

OK, so I have checked this. I am getting 38 miles EV range, not quite 40 miles, in city driving. Of course, this is in the eco mode and following the eco gauge.
