for our 2 S corp's - we put in for both 'paycheck-protection' & disaster loan $$ as soon as it was possible. They were completed less than 6 hours apart - yet the 2 app's are sequentially over 13,000 applications apart. W/ that in mind, we won't be holding our breath waiting.

... which were already quite necessary even before this downturn. Like starting about 8 years ago, in the first half of the recent record-setting 11 year bull market run.

 

CFO says $2400 just got squirted into the checking account.

Now....in my quaint little southern town all hopes of people sheltering in place have been dashed against the rocks of newly swollen bank accounts and a house full of screaming kids with no job to go to.

Local stores now being......stimulated.

Rebound in COVID rates will be blamed on..................................

 

We did the EIDL, that was pretty easy. I haven't seen a result yet.

The PPP was a whole other story. The only banks we found that claimed they could even do the program also said that we would already have to have been a customer.

Later we discovered that our own bank had the technical qualifications, but had never done an SBA loan because they didn't want the risk at all. Since the PPP is fully backed by the government, they are willing to give it a go. So they are attempting to do their first ever SBA loans in that program for their customers.

 

we called SBA to confirm if EIDL would contact us if they needed additional info, or if we needed to edit any data. & they said an edit web page would be forth coming. That was weeks ago. As far as the $1,200 - and wondering why we hadn't received ours, I read one of their pages saying;

Back on topic I see we have the government money. Going to help pay for a new back deck, hopefully before the current one collapses.

 

Don't worry, even without higher taxes, we will pay. 2 trillion dollars was just printed by the US. Think about it. What's the value of the dollar now ? Who knows. If every country does this, maybe not so bad.

 

What about the Venture Capitalist guy that's been in the news spouting off about how the Gov should let all the hedge funds go broke and just give every American half a million dollars? I couldn't care less about the hedge funds, but half a mil to every American? Really? There's an estimated $90 trillion dollars in the world, including cash and non-cash (think savings/checking/investment/retirement electronic accounts). What's $500,000 times the number of Americans, and let's just say adults, so about 220 million.

$110,000,000,000,000...as in $110 trillion...that's more money than currently exists in the WORLD, in all forms. That should work out really well.

It's been another long day, so I'm just going to assume my math is right. I'm sure someone can let me know if I'm off on this...

Ka-ching! We hit the royal jackpot from the feds today. This morning we not only received that check, we received my monthly social security check AND our tax return that had the 30% federal tax credit for adding solar panels to the house on it. No plans or immediate needs to spend it on so I just transferred it all to the savings account.

 

Son did today but he had direct deposit setup.

 

My wife and I have been talking about the best use for the stimulus money for a bit. Now that the money is here and we don't need it personally we've decided to give it to the local food bank. The money will be used for its intended purpose as they spend it on food and supplies, helping to stimulate the local economy a little while helping those who need it right now.

 

I will be giving every last penny to my fav bartender when this is over.

 

Nothing here yet, but we don't usually get a refund. Don't know whether they can use the information from the account from which we pay our taxes. They do have bank account information for our SS deposits.
Checked online today, entering each of our SSNs, and got the response that they are unable to determine our eligibility (or words to that effect).

 

No Coronavirus Tax Relief and Economic Impact Payments for me yet. Checked at IRS Check your payment status site, but received "Payment Status Not Available". Not sure what it really means.

 

It means the IRS is understaffed.

 

It may also mean you made more than the limits and are getting less.

 

I usually send in a check, so I went online and put in my bank account info. So far, I'm in the line.

 

If they had the staff, the website would say as much
