Electrolysis problem with dust. Has anyone resolved this dust magnet? Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Do you mean electrostatic attraction of dust? This is our second Prime, but we haven't noticed a dust magnet-propensity with either.
I use a California duster. This maybe the cause ! I also clean with a furniture polish too prevent scratches when cleaning. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Yes Trollbait I believe your correct. I'm not going too use that polish in the future. We'll see if that solves the issue? Thanks Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I've noticed that the rear hatch near the license plate area and the top of the rear bumper (where the applique is) pull in dirt like crazy. I get the impression that it may not be electrostatic and more aerodynamics. It seems to me that the normal flow of air over the car causes any road dust to deposit right on top of the rear bumper and near the license plate area. BTW - Collinite 845 wax is what I use for my final layer when I detail the vehicle now. The other layers are Klasse All-in-One and Klasse High-Gloss Sealant. Not sure if that causes more dust to accumulate or not.
It’s not electrostatic, it’s just fluid dynamics. The rear hatch collects dust and sand. When I open the hatch, there is sand on the rear bumper which then becomes mud when it rains.
Yes I get sand on the bumper sill but I'm talking about the hatch and window getting painted in dust. It is collected by the polycarbonate part of the car. I may have too try one of those straps that ground the car! Remember those straps hanging off the rear bumper of the car. They helped eliminate car sickness! Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
