This was a great decision. Looks and feels way better. No more scratch and thumb print magnet cheap looking plastic panel.

Nice! I am thinking of doing similar on my Prime's piano black interior. Was this precut for this application? Or did you DIY from a plain sheet of wrap? I've never done wapping myself and wondering how hard it is for the first-timer DIY.

Depends on the shape but in general, not too easy unless it is very flat with no currents or complicated holes to work around.

I paid the guy doing my tint an extra $40 bucks. He's amazing and this still took him over an hour.

I'd say difficult. Some parts and cars extremely so. It took him time, precision, and he used a blowtorch meticulously to heat just the right thing up. Well worth the money to me. Watched the whole thing. $40 is totally fair and I don't really have any interior left that I'd care to wrap.

I see it was professionally installed. Is $40 just for the pictured one, or for all four doors?

For two because the back ones are already a matte plastic so I didn't bother.

I could have probably done it myself and achieved about a 70% as good looking job. Might have taken me longer and still would be like $10-15 in material. I don't think that is worth it.

Yes, for $40, it is worth it. Some of the plastic appliques for PRIME cost more than that. I may look for some professional detailing business around me when the dust settles and if the business is still open.

Yeah I think it was a great deal. Might have only done that because it was a slow day and my tint job.

I actually think I just might do the panel area for the shifter too. I'm not a fan of that "toilet-bowl white" and thank goodness my Prius doesn't have that look for the cup holder area too. Some do and idk why but I got one without that styling.

Last thing I wanna think about is a toilet bowl when I look at my interior, sparkling clean or not.

Yeah, I hated the porcelain white on shifter panel and steering wheel accent on my 2017 PRIME. Luckily I traded it in for a 2020 PRIME recently. It is now all piano black interior. Better than white, but I much prefer the looks of matte carbon black.

I agree. Haven't looked at the Prius prime on the used market since only the 2020 has the middle rear seat available.

    How do you like it?

It is basically the same car as the 2017 model I had before. I did not really need the 5th seat, but I wanted to get rid of the dysfunctional 11.6" screen and very uncomfortable Softex seats. I live in NE where a huge discount on PRIME made the switch so affordable. I traded in 2015 Gen3 Prius Two for 2017 PRIME Premium. This was a huge jump. It is the better car all around except for the cargo space. I have never driven Gen4 regular Prius, but I think the car is very similar except the EV mode. 25 miles of EV range is short but is very useful for a short trip. My next car is either Rav4 Prime or other PHEV with a longer range. Unless infrastructure around here catches up and the electricity rate goes down substantially, BEV makes no sense for me for foreseeable future.

No but that would be difficult. Mine is black so I have no issues with it but I certainly would if it were that porcelain white you're speaking of.

    Terrible design choice by Toyota...

How does that panel look today? Do they last?
