Most people's scores speeding to a grocery store one hour before opening time to get in line will be the opposite, at about 39. Going home with their daily haul of milk, bread, meat, eggs and yogurt and maybe TP, will allow the higher score. :)

My still-completely-full December's purchase of gas might last indefinitely if we are ordered to stay home. I work at a grocery store, and will need a special permit to drive there and home if that order comes down, which I expect will be a week from now. To that end, I'll just keep plugging in for those commutes.

Does the Rav4H tell you how to start the vehicle every time you get in it like the Prime does. I swear ... my car thinks I'm an idiot.

Anyway, gas prices here are getting down close to $2/gallon. Last night, I was seeing $2.049/gallon at most stations. But, still no place to put the stuff. I have about 400 miles so far on this tank and my DTE has still only dropped by 11 miles from the 545-mile starting point 11 days ago. I really feel like a good long trip right now. The roads are almost empty, but where would I go? I don't want to stir the viral pot by mingling now with friends & family all over the country.

State and National parks may be good.
    Hiking trails would be nice.

We were the same way. We took a drive down to the Wichita Wildlife refuge on Saturday North of Fort Sill with the big guns that shoot very big exploding bullets at very unfortunate targets. No people interaction, just wild animals and mountains. No stops needed for the round trip. Just us and cameras in the car. It was enough to satisfy for now.

Since then, the state has gone on lock down with 17 verified cases spread around but not clumped. Mostly returning travelers. All restaurants are closed as of last night except for takeout. All non food serving establishments are closed period, except for gas stations. Finding a place to stay could be a real problem if you need to over night.

Perhaps you could go South in search for conch fritters . . . . :p

Mountains!! That's what I want. (y)(y) But, from here, that would for sure require lodging and that's the rub.

And it's kind of bad timing right now as well. This disruption is creating extra work for me in the office as well as lots of extras stuff with church. As chairman of the elder board, I have an awful lot of stuff to juggle with the changes we are already making plus this shutdown now. Tons of calls, emails, and decisions to make. Which is all kind of why I'm getting the urge to bug out, I guess. LOL!

Those of us that live in areas with more than 10° temperature variation call this condition "Spring Fever." kidding.

I can see all of this really complicating things for you right now.

I have and 88 year old neighbor that still drives but won't leave her house because her son in Dallas told her not to. He's not coming up here to restock her food and she's too proud to ask for help. I keep chipping away at her gently.

Don't be so sure about that. Oil wells and refineries can't be turned off and on like a light switch. It might actually be cheaper for them to give away oil for free than to shut down the pumps (for short periods at least).

Even if oil price goes to zero, you got state and Feds taxes.

Refineries definitely can be turned off like a switch, it is an emergency requirement. Everyone nearby knows when it happens, the flare-offs are very bright and loud.

Yes, the refineries really try to avoid it, the restarts take days and can be hazardous.

Ah, good point, I should have been more precise. Refineries can't be turned on and off like a switch without it being expensive and/or disruptive.

Obviously, for safety reasons they have emergency shutdown protocols.

Don't go to Moab. So many people already did, and were partying too much without obeying distance rules, that they were forced to shut down. New lodging reservations in multiple counties were ordered closed by 10pm last night.

We didn't know until rolling in from an adjacent park at 8pm.

At least the parks were still open this morning. But check again first, things have changed daily, even while we were inside.

Wow. I don't think we'll be going anywhere anyhow. Way too much stuff to do right now. Hopefully, in May. We'd like to touch base with some of the folks in NJ, PA, & OH who support our ministry.
