    Howdy y’all!

so I acquired the use of a prolong deluxe kit from one of me new Prius chat chums (thanks!!)

    results were as follows.

First I’ve been dying to get the case off my battery since I had previously noticed that the majority of the battery bolts were missing!?!??! (Talked about this in a previous post). So when I went to put in the prolong cable I had a good look at the battery cells. Sure enough there was a hodgepodge of different plates in there. I’ll post a pic. I checked over all the bolts to make sure they were all tight and only very slightly corroded. One of the main power lines was all green. Just for good measure I thoroughly brushed them all off with a plastic brush and lightly greased the green one. Satisfied with this I finished up the cable, put it all back together, and replaced the big orange cut off plug.

first charge went from 217 to 244v in about 16 hours.

first discharge went to 134 in about 12 hours

from there discharges took 12-16 hours and the third and final charge stabilized at 242 and took 36 hours.
I was reading about someone else who was recharging up to 250v mine stopped at 242. Anyone know why?
I only did 3 cycles as the process went on a week and I wanted me car back. Anyway.....

afterwards I’m noticing a definite difference. my electric only range is vastly improved. The pull is harder on the on ramps, the charge status is far more stable (staying in 6 dark blue most of the time) but best of all I can run the a/c full blast and it has no effect on the performance. It used to plunge to purple with the a/c on at stoplights. Now it doesn’t seem any different.
    These things work.

Glad you are seeing improved performance:).

And talk the other members in to letting you in on the equipment. I'm sure they gave you the sweet heart deal:whistle:.

    Thanks for sharing your results;).

Always good to have more data(y).

It was a long and arduous negotiation process :)
