I’ll give you my opinion when you tell me where I can buy on of these fabulous ‘ariya’s’
Until then, I can’t tell from the picture if it is worth it or not

One can put a small generator in the frunk and alleviate some of that range anxiety :)

Maybe that’s what Nissan has replaced the dash with, a rolling buffet

"you open the door and there’s not much evidence that it’s an EV"

That's probably the point. Don't want to push too much change at consumers or they'll be resistant. "Look, it's just like cars you're familiar with except it uses no gas!"

My vote is that it is a waste of space.

Move the fans out of the dash, Use the frunk are for all of that, just pipe the air in.
Move all the electronics from the dash and console to the frunk area.

For the dash, all you need air inlets, steering wheel, display and passenger airbag.
… and a place to stick your phone.

The rest of the dash (lots of 'glove boxes"), some shelving. and huge console space.
Cup holders galore, maybe even tray storage, for eating in the car. Umbrella stand.
Who doesn't love cubby holes ?

I removed all range anxiety by using an BEV and discovering it was all in my head ;)
I would have far more anxiety about having a generator stored in the frunk slamming into me in the event of an accident:eek:

The challenge of course is to get the computers the agree with such antics. Pulling over and waiting for a car to recharge on 110v generator is going to take way longer than a charging station. Now if you could re-write the source code for the car to accept a charge while it's in use, that'd be awesome.

room for an emergency compact spare tire, which most manufacturers choose not to include any more

there' a member here, Phil, who did exactly that. Rewrote code for his Nissan Leaf and trailered a 240V micro gas turbine generator enough to run the car without a charge.

    There was a Rav4ev as well;

You ask for a full size then have them “compromise” with a temporary spare.

I'm thinking more front row space might be nice for a subcompact car, but it I have to see it first.
VW is putting the space to the cabin with the ID line.
    Done.

I can't tell if that Aryia even has the basic glove compartment.
My 2005 Prius had more than enough cubbies while still having all the regular equipment under the dash.
The Rav4 trailer was made by AC Propulsion for their tzero EV of the time, IIRC. It was clever in having a reversing assist ability.
We were fools giving up solid rubber tires.

And stink up a perfectly good EV with gasoline smell?
    Nope.

I got rid of range anxiety by looking at the Supercharger map.

GM already did, in the Volt (of somewhat blessed memory).
