    Heh, GM.

GM has made some of the lousiest interior electrical-electronic components for years.

They couldn't even make a reliable ignition switch.

I'll just pass on anything made by GM.

When the criminals who love shorting stocks for massive profits because they think they can destroy a business behind the scenes... I mean what could go wrong? Should be easy to take out Tesla with bad PR and behind the scenes sabotage courtesy of fossil fuel industry wanting to do all they can to help? And what happens? Tesla stock nearly triples in value...

Meanwhile GM is like, sure would be great if we could get Wall Street to notice our electric car plans?

Wonder what Albert Champion and Charles Kettering, founder of the Dayton Electrical Laboratories Company, would think or say, if they were alive today.

i think most everyone on the street knows that gm, ford and chrysler are doomed if bev's take off, and their rhetoric is just that.
they are not committed, and are hoping fossil fuels will hang in there, at least as long as they have jobs.

At least they're making an effort to stay competitive unlike Toyota who thinks they can simply win via false advertising....

And of course the biggest thing the electric car has going for it is the potential for climate change disasters to get so bad that there's a hyper rapid divestment from all things fossil fuel and trillions in subsidies that benefit big oil are turned towards alternative energy development.

are they making an effort, or is it all hype?

It's all about how scared people get... The fires in Australia ratcheted things up big time and with all the billions in property loss in California, not to mention hurricanes and tornadoes and regular flooding of priceless architecture in Venice, when it once was very rare...

Not sure how it's going to play out... Currently we're still stuck in the air pollution at scale is not going to change how I choose to live my life stage. Electric cars and gas cars is still framed as personal choice... But in India and China and also now on the horizon in Europe is the fact that air pollution is getting so bad on a local scale that some types of fossil fuel vehicles are being banned from the most polluted parts of major cities. But still a long way to go. Of course the scientist's latest data is saying it's currently accelerating much faster than predicted and they're having to update their findings.

most people here in this 'progressive' state have no clue, and drive huge gas burners.

but that's a different subject. i believe gm is just as clueless

They've sold more BEVs in the USA than Toyota so far. Correct?

I give GM a little more credit than most do on this forum. Although it's now gone, they were pioneers with the Volt and now at least they make and sell a decent EV. I am curious to see what Hummer brings. But altogether I believe they are doing more than many companies out there.

I'm still tooling around in my little Spark EV, which came out three years before the Bolt.
