    Hello

I did a google search for Prius dashboard rattle and I came across a thread where the OP stuffed a rag between the windshield and passenger side speaker (in the dash). This solved his rattle problem. I did the same and it solved my rattle problem too. Thank you! It was driving me nuts. I'd really like to NOT leave a small towel on my dash stuffed into the corner like this. Does anyone know if there's a better fix? Is it the speaker grill cover? My car is now about 17 months old with 17,000 miles... is this sort of problem something a dealer would fix under warranty?

Thanks for any help and advice, Rosencrantz

I’m not aware of a specific, published fix for this problem. Toyota’s generic answer for interior rattles is to apply self-adhesive foam or felt, cut to the appropriate size, from the Interior Noise Kit, part number 08231-00801.
I’d think so, especially if you’ve already located the source of the noise—typically the most time-consuming part of the job—and just want the dealer to make a permanent fix.

Thank you for your detailed reply. Next time I have the car in for service, I'll have to ask them about it.
