+1. The moonroof is available only on the XLE or Limited, and not on the awd Prius (is there a moonroof option on the Prime, even?). That's how I ended up with a Limited; well, that and wanting the rare combination of red/harvest beige.

That is quite an assumption to make! Bold claims require equally strong proofs.

all i can offer is the dearth of product, but the overabundance of claims for the future.

marketing has once again outstripped engineering.

he few products on the market are poorly designed, and built.

It doesn't make financial sense to market what you don't intend to sell. I think it's quite a stretch to suggest that the products were poorly designed. The only mistake "traditional" manufacturers made was in underestimating how much more people were willing to spend on an EV compared to a non-EV. Nobody (save for Tesla) expected 5 years ago that a car with starting price of $40k would be among the top 10 selling cars in the US today. This is likely a major reason why many vehicles were released with small batteries... they didn't want to drive up the prices.

Without Tesla, I could see EV adoption getting delayed, but it would certainly not have been stopped.

Delayed? Definitely. Stopped? We’l Never know .

Either way, it will be a Ning time before Tesla has serious competition
