Hey folks, just wanted to say hello. I am a newbie around here, got my first Prius in June! Her name is Flo and she is very pretty (Yes, I am among those who call all their cars by women names ;-) ) Here she is... A JDM car, imported, rather basic in specs but rolls well! RHD as I am from Ireland. Happy to be here
New 2020 Prius Prime LE purchased yesterday. Introductory post in the Prius Prime forum: https://priuschat.com/threads/new-prius-prime-owner-2020-le.211095/ Looking forward to some great information here!
Just bought a 2013 Prius C Two yesterday. Today was my first full day with it, and I love it! I would've rather gotten the blue one, but this habanero one was the right price and only had 76k miles on it. My 5 yr old named it Hot Rod, because it's the same color as his favorite Transformer. Still discovering everything about it, glad I found this forum!
First post on Priuschat. This is our new Prime. Previous car was a 2007 Prius. I hope this Prius lasts as long and is as trouble free. We have had the car less than a week, and my head is spinning from trying to learn all the new bells and whistles. Thankfully, as a long time Prius driver, the basic functionality is pretty familiar. I have looked at posts on Priuschat over the years, but never created an account. I think I'm really going to need it with this new car. I have gone through all of the Toyota-supplied manuals, but I still have a ton of questions.
Picked myself up a 2013 to replace my aging daily driver 2001 forester. Love everything about this car!
Hello, I am a new owner of a 2020 Prius Prime Limited(Plugin) just got it yesterday. I bought it in Capitola Santa Cruz. This is my first hybrid vehicle and hope to last a long time. Do you guys recommend buying extended warranty for this? If it is can you tell me where to get a good deal? the dealer where I bought the car is asking 2k for 8yr 100k mi. Thank you
Just my 2 cents, these extended warranties tend to be more grief than good. You "may" benefit, but odds are it'll just be an exercise in frustration, waste of money.
That's what I thought. FYI, I didn't buy any BS that the dealer's trying to sell me. lol Thanks for your opinion Mendel.
Hi all, New member here and collecting my first Prius this Saturday. I currently own a Lexus Hybrid, have loved it so much I had to get another hybrid. Financial and environmental considerations have meant ditching the SUV and getting into a Prius. My Prius is a 2011 T-Spirit in Vermillion (Barcelona) Red. I'd love to know if the T-spirit is comparable to the IV or V in the States if anyone knows? It's got 58,000 miles and full Toyota service history, with just 1 owner from new. It's in as-new condition and I can't wait to pick it up! This forum has already proven so useful and I'm looking forward to getting involved! Alex.
Hi prius chat! I am a new owner of a 2010 but I don't know much about the model.. What's the Prius platinum?
Hi everyone. Brand new Prius owner. We just got a 2016 Prius Two Eco on Saturday. It has 85,000 miles – high mileage I know, but it was all highway miles and it is in pristine condition otherwise. The dealer put new tires on it and replaced the filter and cabin filter etc. I can verify the one owner highway miles from the regular maintenance on the Carfax being done back and forth many times in 2 locations over a thousand miles apart. We decided that higher mileage / later model / later gen, with complete CarFax service records was a better buy (since they were highway miles), rather than slightly lower miles / older model / older generation for the same cost. I hope we were right? We paid 13.2K for it, which was our upper price limit, including the brand new tires and balancing. Was that a good deal? Is there anything we should check or have done at the Toyota dealer due to the high mileage for it’s model year? According to CarFax all of its service was always done by a Toyota dealer until this dealer bought it at auction. ( We bought from a dealer but they were not a Toyota dealer. They were a GMC/Subaru/Cadillac dealer). Thanks so much for your wisdom!
Had this one 3 months, 234,000 miles. Been serviced by Toyota every 6 months from new. Currently averaging low 50's mpg around town.
We bought an immaculate 2015 Prius 4 in November. 82000 miles, 1 owner. All dealer extras including anti-chip film at the front. Mary loves the electric sunroof and the heated seats. We are getting 50mpg in the Metroplex and 48-51 highway depending on driving style. It just glides along, and the CVT is one thing that people notice after a while. Despite some reviews, it rides better than our previous primary car (2012 Elantra), uses 40% less fuel and Mary loves it.
We dodged a bullet 2 days before we bought it. We originally found a 2013 Prius at another dealer. Several dings on it, and it had worn out low profile tires, major road noise when we drove it. We thought it was overpriced for its condition, but the dealer wouldn't move on the price, so we passed. That was the right decision, since we found this one the next day. Some things happen for a reason.
Here's our first Prius. 2010 Trim Level 4 with the Solar Sunroof (I miss that feature). We had it from 2015 to 2019. I think we paid $15,800 or so for it. We bought it with about 50,000 miles and it had 115,000 miles when my 18 year old son totaled it a couple months ago. It held up well considering how hard a full size truck hit it and he was fine. Good Toyota safety. I wanted a Prius Plug In, but they are hard to find with the Advanced style package or low miles, but I didn't want to "downgrade" from our previous one. It took about 2.5 months of looking and I found a 2012 Plug In Advanced with only 27,000 miles on it for just under $16,000. I'm really happy with it so far. Getting about 65 mpg (of course it really depends on how much driving you can do on electricity) and the dynamic radar cruise control is really nice. No pictures yet, but it's the Sea Glass green which looks more light blue than green IMO.
