I sold my Prius v five a few years ago because it started burning oil even though I changed it every 5k with the best synthetic I could buy off a shelf. My sisters blew it’s head gasket so that didn’t make me feel good either. I bought a Ford C-Max hybrid and I have 160k now. It doesn’t burn a drop of oil and has been amazingly reliable, and very solid feeling car. I like the lithium battery too! It can get up to speed under full electric power if you want, and go into EV at 75 mph on the highway. I’ve been vigilant on changing all the fluids. I hope you don’t have anymore issues with your V. They definitely weren’t as well built as the older Prii :(

Ya... I screwed up. Bought one just for the heck of it from my neighbor......194,000 miles..... perfect body and interior. All highway miles from Texas to Florida and back for his two business locations... Paid $5000 and have luckily done the repairs myself...but sure wouldn't buy another one.... I have 2 other toyotas with LOT's of miles...... ECE...they have been great (750,000 combined) ... I keep vehicles for a long time..... that's why I don't recommend these. Plus had plugged egr system, intake and I installed a catch can.
And this car needs a trani, brake master cylinder and accumulator pump.. has new traction battery, inverter, and water pump. But the A/C still works. Other vehicles Camry and a Previa.
Kind of a piece of crap unless you drive 150,000 then trade it in. Wouldn't be as bad if the parts weren't so expensive..... good MPG but not worth it when gas is so cheap...I filled up last night in East Texas...$1.94 a gallon.

Dang that is disappointing dude! I’ve never heard of the power split failing in a 2010+ Prius. Must be a defective bearing :(

Hearing about it more often.. It's a whine at driving speeds.
