I know it’s a fairly new model generation. After reading an article today about the new RAV4 hybrid issue with the fill up of the fuel tank, I was just curious if there are any issues that folks are facing with their 2016 and newer with the Prius. Thanks!

Nothing much here. I had an issue when mine was new with the Brake Light Switch which caused multiple Malfunctions to display - but that was fixed quickly. It's achieved commendable results for quality and reliability on various surveys etc around the world.

I currently drive a 2017 with about 62,500 miles. I got it in April 2017 with 14 miles.

Around 50,000 I had condensation buildup in the passenger-side headlight. The headlight was replaced under an extended warranty I purchased.

Other than that, not one thing has gone wrong. It’s been as reliable as I’ve come to expect from Toyota, and more reliable than the two Subarus I owned before the Prius.

All you need to do is check out Comsumer Reports Magazine to see that Prius continues on with it’s stellar reliability record. On my second Prius (‘17 Prime) that continues to prove why I switched from VW to Prius since 2009. Simply Amazing

111,000 miles on my 2017 and it's been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

Only issue I've had is occasionally 2 of the automatic door locks stop responding. Stops working for awhile (few days, or few weeks) and then eventually starts working again. Have to work the locks manually if they stop responding. Super annoying when it is driver door lock :)
Will get it fixed eventually, but it is approx $500 per door.

A Toyota spokesman recently stated that the fueling issue in the Rav4 hybrid may be related to the "saddle" shape of the gas tank. So it appears that the problem is specific to the Rav hybrid (including mine). They still do not have a fix.

Just have the axle click noise when using brake regen at low speeds.
Other than that amazing. I am averaging 65-66 mpg.

2019, going on 7,000. So far so good. I have a minor rattle in the rear of the vehicle whenever I hit a bump. Suspect it's the hatch latching mechanism.

Also there is this: To me this looks like a corrosion issue, but I am not a gearhead so I wouldn't know whether or not this is normal. Can anyone comment on the level of corrosion in the zoomed image?

I can relate to that corrosion. I believe that bolt is not anodized or coated so the environment is being harsh on it causing corrosion. Not sure if there is an alternative part.

Thanx. To me the corrosion seems excessive. However, it might be acceptable for the application. I guess a more pertinent question is "what would be the consequences of not doing anything about it?"

I am thinking about coating it with poly-sulfide to help mitigate exposure.

Spray some WD40 on the bolt.

Maybe clean it a little first.

    Monitor as before.
