I'm not sure what you are talking about. The Model 3 uses a phone as the default key. It uses Bluetooth. The only dead zone is if you have your phone too far away, in a metal case or blocked by your body mass, etc.
There were and are complaints about some phones BT not working well.
Earlier models had key FOBs and it is optional to buy this for the Model 3.
The model 3 also has a key card that you can carry in your wallet as a backup or valet key

Only the dual-motor with induction front motor cars.
Tesla sells a standard hardware and uses subsequent software updates to improve performance. Bought new, my Std. Rng. Plus Model 3 had a short, peak charge rate of 106 kW; then longer 100 kW, and; now 170 kW. The hardware did not change, just better software and I didn't have to sell and buy a new car.
    • carry RFID card in wallet
    • iPhone as key uses bluetooth

I was listening to a video discussion a while back, one of the guys was a tesla fan and mentioned Tesla is a game changer and way ahead of the curve with a few billion miles driven already. Not sure how accurate that estimation is, but I do agree that Tesla is a game changer and has sparked this electrification thing we are now seeing grow though out the automotive industry fairly quickly.

In regard to my post on the previous page concerning the matfs for towing, I wouldn't be surprised if the TT does the maffs for the driver automagically when it senses the extra load.

in the X - when we set a trip in gps/maps, & started towing, the system begins immediate range calculations & shows superchargers along your route, whether the route is 100 miles or 1,000 miles ..... automatically factoring in all the variables such as weather, kW's, posted speed limits along the Route, etc. No human slide rule required.

Does it let you save that data for future out-of-car trip planning? A recreational fisherman is likely to tow the same boat on every fishing trip, for example.

For the young'uns here, a slide rule is an old-fashioned predecessor of the electronic calculator.

I've never found any feature like that. But if enough folks ask for stuff like that - then the software writers write it, & OTA it in. That's how 'camping' mode came about in the X, for example. Folks wanted to run climate all night, w/out running 'on' mode.

You can take your wh/mile from a trip and go to one of many online trip planners and plug in that number for it to use.
Not a perfect simulation. But equal to guessing your mpg with an ICE.

    LOL

One reason I wouldn't buy a Tesla is because of how far behind a company like Toyota they are in knowing how to build reliable, trouble free cars. For me, I don't care how great it is, if it's not reliable and trouble free, I wouldn't buy it.

I've seen way too many Tesla owner videos involving being stranded because the car wouldn't power up, got bricked during an OTA update, vampire drain killed their range while parked at the airport, and a million other problems that left the owners stranded or with some other annoying smaller problem like won't charge, door won't open, door won't close, and so on.

That's not something I'd put up with.

Even if your alternative is to have your vehicle hacked and controlled due to an insecure network connection that cannot be disabled?
Tesla is the only manufacturer I have heard of that takes information security seriously. Governments are pushing for more and more connectivity.

    To each their own.
I saw a lady on YouTube that was claiming the government put dangerous stuff in the water because her sprinkler resulted in a rainbow. "This didn't happen when I was a kid". Doesn't mean I am going to stop using lawn sprinklers.
(although, I did stop using them for other reasons)
I put less credence on YouTube and more on 9 years of driving history in Tesla vehicles.

That's not the alternative to Tesla vehicles.

My son bought a Toyota hybrid, I bought one, his wife bought one, I bought one. Yet I posted an articles listing 30 things I wish were different about each vehicle. No car design is perfect. Every design must make compromises.

Tesla's Performance On Consumer Reports Reliability Survey Made Us Wonder | InsideEVs Photos

"We have recently seen the latest results from the Consumer Reports (CR) Reliability Survey, and they made us scratch our heads. Among 30 brands, Tesla is in the 23rd position. It is in the bottom third, with a score of 39."

"The Model X, a third of Tesla’s current lineup, is among the ten least reliable cars in the US, according to CR. It has a score of 15. "

Toyota is 3, Tesla is 23 - out of 30.

You can be very satisfied with an unreliable car if your satisfaction is drawn from factors other than reliability. I've got a buddy who dearly loves his S despite having to rent a Malibu for a couple of months while his Tesla was down.

I suspect facts don't matter to you, however, here it goes.
I followed the link you provided.
The Tesla Model X scores a 57. BTW, the Tacoma scores 47.
The Toyota Prius scores a respectable 79. The S scores an 83 and the Model 3 an 80.

I don't think reliability is as important to you as you imply.

There's the other Dynamic where people will go out of their way to complain about issues while few will sing product praises when everything continually goes right. Myself included.
